Wow, that's a handful!!
Okay, I utilized the MasterNoth tutorial to add water to my map. (thanks for link Jawa_Killer). So far so good.
What I'm trying to do is create a coastline. In other words water to beach to grassy plain/woodland type mainland. What would be the best way to layer my textures? Should I cover the area with the water, then add sand on top of that (minus the area that will remain "ocean") then the mainland texture on top of the sand?
Hopefully this question makes some sense..!!!!
Thanks for tips!!

try to use as less water as possible.......every watersquare that is under the terrain lowers the performence!

Its a BF1 tutorial but the stuff regarding ZE is completely compatible and very useful for BF2. Again, thanks to Jawa_Killer for his contribution to that as well as the other contributors.
@jawa_killer: so it would be best to cover a small area with water....then put the beach texture next to it....then the mainland textures with no overlaps or layers? I'll give that a try and see how looks. Thanks for the tip.
