Well, instead of using maul's model, we could use the Magna guard's model! :O And someone could model a mangaguard's staff with a little bit mroe detail than saturn V's (no disrespect) and take off force powers, it could work :)

Isn't "porting content from a game to another one" strictly prohibited ? :|

Only if you intend on making "comercial use" of the mod.

You know, I was thinking of the possibility of giving the Magna Guard a staff the other day. If we could perhaps reskin Darth Maul's lightsaber to look like the staff, I think we'd be able to do it. Just color the blade purple-ish, shorten the blade a bit and lengthen the "staff" part of it, and it should work. I think the animations for the weapon actually lie within the weapon's ODF, rather than Darth Maul's. So, if my theory is correct, giving the Magna Guard Maul's saber should technically include with it the animations of the swings. So, then, all that would be left is to remove the flips and spin animations (after all, in the movie, the Magna Guards didn't flip around and kick their opponents), and then replace the lightsaber "hum" with that Magna Guard electrostaff "buzz". Actually, I think there's some sort of buzzing sound in the backround in the Utapau hangar... could probably use that...

Eh, I don't know. It's all theory. Maybe when the mod tools come out, this can be done with a simple amount of ODF editing and reskinning... who knows? We might even get like, an entire mod tool kit like with BF1942, and easily be able to model new weapons and everything. Since they're officially supported this time around, modding will probably get a lot easier for BF2...

Actually, you can't port liscenced stuff to another game, just like you can't copy movies. If you guys do it, that's your business, but we don't want to get Guru in trouble, so please don't discuss this here.

Yes it's illegal in all forms.

But the thing about the EULA is that there is oone hell of a blurred line between where actin is taken and where doind so would cost the publishers too much.

Anywho, I also hope that we get a full kit.

A cape could be added on MagnaGuards, just by reskinning an existing one (Such as Darth Vader's...) and linking it to IG-100 droids through a modification of their main *.ODF file...

or you could just take the model, add the cowel and cape, rig it, export it as a new model and make it a new playable hero and either merge it with mauls animations or make new animatinos. i hate reskins, they never look good, just make a new staff and new model, itll look the best. id definitely try this if psyk0fred would give me the magna guard model so i wouldnt have to do through Bconstructor to get it cause thatll mess the whole model up. but i didnt mean new model as in new magna guard model, i meant not using darthmaul as a base, which would look REALLY retarded and super gay.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt psych0fred would accept to provide "source files" from SWBF II, since they're the properties of their authors, that's to say, both Pandemic Studios and LucasArts...
