Did you check your recycling bin and see if you could restore the file?

Deleting your Battlefront 2 folder didn't get everything, such as regestry files .etc
The easiest thing to do is to repair your installation

1. Insert the first Battlefront 2 disc
2. Close the menu that pops up
3. Go to My Computer, and right click on the drive that says SWBF2 or something of that sort
4. Select "Explore"
5. Now you should have a list of files on the CD/DVD, so run setup.exe
6. Click to repair the installation
7. Follow the prompts to the end and test the game
