DNS Suffix and Default Gateway

Post by RevanSithLord »

Okay....this has been the strangest thing today. It was working fine until sometime earlier this evening. This is for my gaming comp, mind you. I didn't install any programs that could mess with the DNS server connections either! Also, mind you that I have reformatted my computer not even a week ago. -_-

Okay. I've done practically everything and it still refuses to help me get up on the internet.

I released and renewed my IP.
My ethernet drivers ARE up to date and that shouldn't have been the problem anyways.
I even manually typed in values to see if it'd friggin connect, but no avail.

I've googled and googled and no answer has popped up. We don't use a password to use our internet and to be honest, we do not need one.

I finally did ipconfig/flushdns and then I did another release and renew of my IP. I restarted my computer at least 5 times. I am wired into the hub. The hub is on and connected to the wall. I changed ports on it. I've changed cables. Still nothing! And to be honest, I have really little patience, as I really need it on the net so I can download assets to use for modding. All it's ever been lately is, "limited or no connectivity". It's really making me upset and I'm already going through withdrawals on it! Meh, at least one computer is up.....which is actually what I don't understand. And they're right next to each other. Meh.

We restarted the router downstairs and that didn't help either. No viruses have gotten through. I have everything firewalled. This really is annoying..........

Problem solved. I was stupid and had the red cable in the wrong slot on the hub. DOY!

Please feel free to do whatever you want with this, admins. Lock it, pin it, whatever, so people know what to look for in terms of DNS Suffix and Default Gateway problems....
