Yep, just tested it. Replaced the marine with Yoda on a space map and it worked perfectly. Most heroes, however, are unable to use vehicles with their default ODF files. To fix this, go into C:\BF2_ModTools\data_ModID\Sides\SideID\odf and open a hero's ODF file. Look for:
and change the "1" to a "0." Then, of course, you need to change the mission script to look in the mod's side folder (add the dc:). The heroes go in as they do on assault, with normal health bars, rather than the shrinking lightsabre thing.
Now, this makes me wonder. I want to know if it's possible to actually make the units spawn inside their ships, already out in space. I'll have to look into it. It would help in the creation of my Battle of Yavin map I have in the works; I'd rather the units spawn "as" their ships, instead of in a capital ship or what have you. I'll look into it. If anyone knows already, then please share your secrets.
That would be sweet. I can just see a battle over naboo taking place in my head with this stuff. lol Lots of Flak, etc. Should make a HUGE *** DCS, make it gray and not the colors in ROTS. Destroy the radar discs, the hangar turrets, turrets out side on the ring, the inner turrets, communication array, engines, attenas, etc. It would be pure chaos. It'd be like how you spawned in your ship in UT2004- Skarjj Assault. I already have a huge idea on what these awesome maps will look like!!!!
After further testing, i realize that for some reason, the lightsabre does not function on space maps (have only tested yoda). Force powers still work, as does changing parameters to allow yoda to use vehicles (also gave yoda force lightning, and it functions correctly as well). Yoda will swing his lightsabre around, but it does no damage, and goes straight through droids, ships, computers, and allies without any visual effect.
