If you don't already have it, Orange Box.
Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half Life 2. There's a thread in the "Other Games" forum (posted by Ping if I remember correctly) that has all the info you'll need on those games.

If you can, though, wait until Christmas. Steam usually has a HUGE sale on almost everything awesome around Christmas.
