Again, there's no way to tell how effective cap ships or fighters or Fed ships would be against each other, because we don't know the relationship between the technologies - like i said we can't cross - refrence info between the two. For all we know, Star Wars could be years ahead of Star Trek, or vice versa - or their technology meerly developed in a different way. But if you want my educated guess, I'd say that the fighters may not have the power output neccesary to do any meaningful damage to Federation cruisers. Turbolasers and Ion Cannons probably would, but that's proabably like trying to hit a sparrow with a cannonball. And as to the Jedi vs. Borg - a lightsaber is energy, is it not? I highly doubt the Borg could not be able to adapt to it after a while. I actually wrote an essay on this whole idea, which argues that you CANNOT predict who will win, so don't even try. Oh, and for those of you who didn't know, the Q are omnipotent, and could alter space, time, and matter any way they want with the snap of their fingers - including erasing entire civilizations from existance.minilogoguy18 wrote:big cruisers are nothing more than giant targets of death, the executor proved it. the main thing that makes SW better in space fights are thier starfighters, an x-wing is faster and more agile than any ST ship hands-down. rogue squadron could mop up the entire federation fleet on thier own and a single jedi could take on tons of borg, theyre slow and stupid.

You can't compare the two, also because Star Trek is more based on the far future of Earth and is us but more advanced and starting into galactic exploration. Star Wars seems thousands and thousands of years ahead where pretty much the whle galaxy is connected and advanced technologically.
And realistically, do you think if they met the first thing they would do is start shooting?
Federation would consider it first contact and Empire would try to capture them for questioning at best. It would probably be like,
F: HI! WE'RE FROM Earth. Let's be allies!
E: WTF?! A GIANT FRYING PAN?!
F: ...
E: And what in the hell are you wearing?
F: ...
Actually there would probably be some shooting at that point.

I'm not sure if I should finish this map now, it keeps crashing and than when I finally end up getting it working I have deleted half the objects on the map.
lol i was actually searching randomly for new textures for this map and I found a video for Star Wars vs Star Trek and it was kinda like they were equal but unequal, very odd video, Ill post the link if i find it again
***Star Trek convention is tommorow!***

As jangoisbaddest said, I was joking. Though it would be interesting... Place your bets, ppl! The Executor vs. a giant frying pan!Hebes24 wrote:I think that takes the frying pan thing a bit too far. this is a Star Wars vs. Star Trek map, not a Star Wars vs. Giant Frying Pan map.maybe you could just get rid of the two engines and just make one engine that's like a handle! And then there would be egg-shaped fighters on top of it for the hangar and they would shoot strips of bacon or something.

But Darth Vader has "Force Cook" "Force open frigde" "Force peel" ^^
ahem:
http://www.merzo.net - and choose "-2x", drag down the ISD until you find the Klingon ships - and you'll see the difference in size that will make balancing the map and staying correct rather DIFFICULT.

even though this has almost nothing to do with your post thnx, this site is a good site for basic texture designs for my upcoming ships and stations (the scales couldn't hurt either thnx)Protector_Pulch wrote:But Darth Vader has "Force Cook" "Force open frigde" "Force peel" ^^

I mentioned earlier in this forum, this has been done for star trek bridge commander and for those who know their games this one was done by the same people that did the x wing game series. As far as I can remember when playing this a star destroyer can beat star fleet ships but the borg is a different matter.I really hope you get this to work for battlefront because it is fun in the star trek game and will open up a whole new breed of mods for battlefront and if you can get star trek models into battlefront you will be getting lots of work making models for battlefront.Live long and may the force make it so!

True, but that doesn't mean that the differences in technology won't bring lots of different variables to a battle (an example would be powerful but slow turbolasers against comparatively small and quick Federation, Klingon, etc. ships). Undoubtedly they are an oddity in each other's tactical mindset. Also, don't forget about the other civs that have existed for thousands and thousands of years in other parts of the galaxy (ex. the Dominion). The Federation is not the only race/superpower in the galaxy - there are the Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Breen, Dominion, Borg, Kazon, Vidian, Hirogen, Krenim (with temporal weaponry), Divore, and Species 8472 (not in galaxy but part of Trek) to name a few. All of these are vast empires/organizations, and many of them have existed for thousands and millions of years, and this is just with an EXTREMELY small amount of the galaxy explored. Star Wars may be united under one galaxy, but there are perhaps just as many or more worlds under Trek's universe. There are also species like the Iconians, who died out millions of years before the Federation, but produced technology like gateways to the other side of the galaxy that take you there instantly. Trek has more possibility, which further adds to the variables. If it's just straight up Trek vs. Wars, with everything inclusive, Trek would win meerly because of the Q - but I assume one would want a millitary conflict rather than someone snapping their fingers to end it all. Gotta think about who exactly would be fighting.Kyross wrote:You can't compare the two, also because Star Trek is more based on the far future of Earth and is us but more advanced and starting into galactic exploration. He's got a point. Like I said, think about how this would play out - that includes diplomacy.Kyross wrote:And realistically, do you think if they met the first thing they would do is start shooting?

Think things through and/or know what you're talking about before you make such a statement. There are several examples of ground combat in Star Trek. There was an extremely brutal war between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, in which Starfleet used vehicles called "Hoppers" to transport troops, much like the LAAT/i. There's also Nemesis, which showcases a dune - buggy with a mounted phaser turret (would make circles around walkers, but who knows about the power of that turret). Shuttles have been seen to produce air support when needed, which combines space - based weaponry with a small, maneuverable ship able to break the atmosphere. Tetryon Pulse Launchers, Type IIIa/b/c Phaser Rifles, Photon Grenades (see TOS for a demonstration), Phase Compression Rifles, Isomagnetic Desintegrators (the sexy bazooka that Worf used in Insurrection to take out four or five men at once), are just a few of the weapons at Starfleet's disposal. And don't forget the Klingons themselves, the most feared, dedicated, kickass warriors ever known. I don't think Trek would be whalloped on land as bad as you think.clonepilot1 wrote:well i think star wars would easily kick star trecks [word not allowed].....hmm...wonder ho0w the clones would fare against federatin troopers hmm.....
It's not that I'm anti - Wars or Trek, but everyone seems to be jumping to conclusions without considering much. These examples are just what I can think of off the top of my head - there's lots more that can be found if you look. For some reason, a lot of the people that claim Wars would hands - down no doubt win are the ones that don't think at all - or just plain don't watch Star Trek - which is a shame, cause they're missin out.
*Gasp*
With all that out of the way, I agree with 11of3. This mod has infinate possibilities! One could even work the borg in, or the Klingons w/Bat'Leths! That would be freakin sweet.
