Discovery....Mystery Maps
Ok i was looking at the scripts in assets and ive found several mystery maps.
these two maps you can play but they crash after a few minutes
hot1g_uber
kas2g_uber
These maps are listed as scrpits but do not exist yet
dag1c_smuggler
tat3g_hunt
im gonna look into this

Yeah, if you look through the shell scripts you'll find mode with the tag _obj. It's commented out. I looked all over for _uber and _smuggler, but never found them in the shell, so I don't know how well they work.

"smuggler" is only used in 5 unique lines and they are all interms of the unit. "uber" is used only slightly more. I think uber reffers to XL mode.

The real question is whether you can actually call them via addme.lua. I have had no luck in doing so, as adding things like mode_obj_g or whatever new mode will either do nothing or crash the game.

There are "smuggler" and "hunt" gamemodes in the PSP version. I personally despise consoles, but I've heard of special gamemodes that have replaced the campaign since you couldn't possibly fit the singleplayer campaign on a small toy.

u can actually play uber online though using the admin option, but its incredibly glitchy

Smuggler is just Conquest. Plain and simple. The lua is exactly like a conquest lua.

COOL! I didn't know that. On a related note: Has anyone experimented with running new gametype luas via command line? (I mean community made ones). I've run a simple LUA mod, YV2c_order66, but it crashed shortly after loading. It may be that I had other errors that I didn't notice though.
Also, someone try to run XL on a dedicated server. I'm curious if it works even though the mp missionselect lua for the shell makes the option to select it in-game disappear.
Why do all this you ask? GREAT question. The answer is simple. After I finish the BF1 conversions, I'm heading on to rebuilding the shell with greater functionality.

I was able to run a tag game mode (g_tag) on a dedicated server. Had the server going for about 4 hours. It is a basic map (open field) with two timers added in the Lua. The game mode didn't show up in the game's instant action menu or online server list (the server name was there though).

Interesting --- Have you developed _tag into an actual mode, or was it just testing?
I can confim that you can run KAS2c_xl online in dedicated server mod AND that it will show up in the multiplayer 'join' menu.

I can also say that we *might* not have all we need to rebuild the shell. I've made multiple edits and the only thing changed when using a new shell is that addon maps aren't yellow anymore.
