IDEA. Camoflage Imperial Stormtroopers
IMHO... Imperial Stormies must have camoflage armor.
For example:
-Jungle/woods (Endor, Kashyyyk) worlds - green camoflage (41st type)
-sand/warm (Tatooine) worlds - sand camoflage (looks like US army camoflage)
- sea (Mon Cal) worlds - light-blue camo
- Urban (Coruscant) worlds - light-grey camo
- Lava (Mustafar) worlds - dark-red camo
What you think about?

IMO nope! that's how they are in the films so that's how they should be. Check out the star wars databank or SW expanded universe, there are other versions of troopers that DO have different colours http://www.starwars.com/databank/organi ... rmtroopers

so, battle for Endor looks like comedy. Only stupid soldiers will attack enemies in white armor. But Imps don`t stupid. They were in white armor only for scenario. Read comics and books

Stormtroopers never wore camoflauge because they werent in a War-like state (unlike the republic in the Clone Wars). They ruled the Galaxy and the Stormtroopers acted more like police.

Stormtroopers were squashing the miniscule rebellion, the white armor served not only to distinguish them as the authority around town, but also was part of the propoganda of the Emperor. They symbolized the invincability of the empire, white is also associated with good, it was to also subconciously make locals more likely to cooperate, and the final and most probably main reason for the white armor. It was shock value. Terror. Intimidation. The empire has LEGIONS of stormtroopers, the emperor didn't mind loosing countless stormies, it is all political propoganda. His actual elite troops wore black, like the high ranking officers and the imperial commandos. Stormies are only quasi elite forces, they are shock troops, not elite special forces. What is more shocking and tramatic to a defender... shooting at sneaky camoflaged troops trying to sneak up on you? Or a legion of white grim troopers storming the place?
Stormies are white for a reason.

While camo stormies would be interesting Bandu and OOM-9 are absolutely correct. They are also white out of arrogance. Recall the Death Star dialogue from ANH...the Empire ruled by fear. They were so arrogant and intimidating that use of camo would make them seem like they are hiding.OOM-9 wrote:*agrees with Bandu*

The different classes or affiliations of stormies on the SW databank site also shows that they were single colored and most were white.
IMO for the Empire, camo would be a sign of weakness.
That being said, camo stormies in some mod maps is not necessarily a bad idea. After all, there is no "rule" that says modding either maps or skins must be "correct" to the "official" SW lore.
It requires creating a new side and then loading you custom unit into the game. Read the docs that accompny the tools, specifically BF2 Jedi Creation.doc (this doesn't apply soley to Jedi. As well as this search the forums as this has been answered numerous times. Once new side is created and you've the desired .tga then you'll need to change the mission .lua so that it calls the reskinned unit. hope this gets you underway to achieving you new skins.how do u apply skins
