Somebody ho knows about HEX Editing

Hey HEX editors!, please someone can make a tutorial or explain to my with VERY VERY details how to replace a word with a longer word. There´s a guy ho knows about that(DFXT something like that) ho say how, BUT I cant understant it. So please someone?

Do you want to replace him in an existing level? Or in a new one?

You now, I chose a level to replace, a existing level, then I go HEX-edit in mission.lvl, but the name of the original trooper is longer then the name of the trooper I want. So I want to know how to do that, before anybody says "do on mod tools", I´m doing this in JUST hex-edit so the trooper stays with his "real name". Thanks, Assasin_Clone
