Interesting... prone hint nodes?
Am I the only one who's noticed this?
Curious as to what would happen if you placed that node there. Would the bots actually go prone, you think? Is the animation still hidden somewhere deep inside the game, waiting to be found? We can only hope...

RE: Interesting...
what's prone??
RE: Interesting...
I also noticed 'prone' somewhere else in the tools.
Prone = lying down
Prone = lying down
RE: Interesting...
As in prone to the floor=parallel to the floor
RE: Interesting...
Hopefully it will work in game. Prone was a nice sniper feature in BF 1

RE: Interesting...
If we're lucky, prone/no prone depends is a map based setting or similar. (ie its not disabled in swbf, but in all the maps) . ..

RE: Interesting...
Look in:
BF2_Tools\assets\Animations\SoldierAnimationBank\human_1\UNUSED
There's only part of the animations needed....
"Dangerous and disturbing this puzzle is"
However... we DO have the BF1 animations as well, and from what I've been told by Fred, they should be 'plug and play', or in other words, they should work. Now we just need to figure out the process of 'plugging' so we can play.

Hhahahahah good one lolTeancum wrote: they should be 'plug and play', or in other words, they should work. Now we just need to figure out the process of 'plugging' so we can play.
Prone was removed for BF2, as you know. The animation files were left around just in case, and the various things from BF1 that have a Prone option weren't fixed (again, just in case), but the Prone state and movement types are in fact removed from the game code - in fact, the animation slots that used to be used for Prone animations are now used for Hero animations instead. If any unit tries to go Prone, depending on how they do it, either they will simply crouch or the game will crash. :^)
There's no going back, sorry guys.
Though if you really wanted to, you could use those animations on a hero with a melee weapon to simulate them actually being prone. (^.~)
