How do i make LVL changes?

ok im no noob (at modding swbf1, aleast) but i cant figure out how to creat new LVL files to over write, lets say the imp side. i copyed the imp and COMMON folder over to the side folder and edited the flamethrower. i munged and the i went to
C://Program files/lucas arts/SWBF2/GAMEDATA/addon/FUN *(id)/data/_LVL_PC
isnt that were its supposed to be

there is no BF2_modtools folder in the program file folder

cuz its not supposed to be there, go in the dir where you installed the Modtools, then look for data_FUN and look there
