Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017) - GAMEPLAY VIDEO
It's official: EA is trying to nose in on the most popular game in the franchise. Featuring more content and a single player campaign. And undoubtedly a season pass containing 50% of the game.
Star Wars Battlefront II will have an official reveal at Star Wars Celebration next month.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017)
2015 SWBF was gripping in both what you saw and heard. Gameplay was solid, too. In the end it just ended being ho-hum. I'm guessing the same will happen with SWBFEA2.
Also, I hate EA's "Reboots". Battlefront, Need for Speed, etc. Just make it a sequel. Don't spit on the old game that got you where you are today.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017)
I'm completely serious when I say that we *need* to not call the game "Star Wars Battlefront II". Instead call it EAfront 2 or DICEfront 2 - like, to the point where you should seriously edit the title of the thread.
I have enough faith in DICE to believe that they'll learn from their mistakes.Teancum wrote:In the end it just ended being ho-hum. I'm guessing the same will happen with SWBFEA2.

It is almost like those stories of when someone regrets their past and wants to start a new life.Teancum wrote:Also, I hate EA's "Reboots". Battlefront, Need for Speed, etc. Just make it a sequel. Don't spit on the old game that got you where you are today.
I think that if DICE were left alone they could make a Battlefront as awesome, if not better, than what the FreeRadical one could have been. It is just that I have a hard time giving EA the benefit of the doubt.Marth8880 wrote:I have enough faith in DICE to believe that they'll learn from their mistakes.Teancum wrote:In the end it just ended being ho-hum. Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017)
LucasFilm and EA wanted the 2015 title released when it was, because they wanted a release that tied into Episode VII. I think if they'd have been given another year, we'd have gotten a very different game. Given the content of the game focused entirely on the Galactic Civil War and had nothing to do with the Sequel era (bar the free Jakku map), releasing it alongside Rogue One would have been the smarter move.
That being said, I really do hope DICE have done some more research and development for this game. I know they can do a great game - their Battlefield series is very good, and even Battlefield 1 was enjoyable. If they can apply what they've learned from Battlefield to Battlefront, I think we'd be getting a good game.

The trailer has leaked out:
I'm pretty sure this is legit. It looks too good to be fake.

After they insisted they weren't having it, the addition of Clone Wars is good news. Hopefully this means they also took the suggestions about a proper Instant Action on board.

"Pre-order to get SW:Last Jedi Heroes" -.-''
I've seen yoda and maul, not a clone trooper, I'm not going to freak out about clone wars yet...
Oh, and it looks like the main character is going to be a female tie fighter pilot, interesting.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017)
It would seem odd to include Clone Wars heroes and locations (Maul and Yoda are in Naboo's generator rooms) without the actual era, but I'll hold off saying any more until I've seen the full trailer (I've heard this was an edited version, and that would make sense given this hardly looks like DICE's biggest trailer yet, which is what they promised us) and the panel. Apparently before the tweet was taken down (it was on EA's official account) it boldly said "ALL ERAS".Delta-1035 wrote:"Pre-order to get SW:Last Jedi Heroes" -.-''

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017)
Full trailer:
Campaign will follow the leader of Inferno Squadron from the end of Episode VI all the way to the Sequel Trilogy era.
The Clone Wars is a fully-playable era, there are four classes as opposed to Star Cards (Officer, Assault, Heavy, Specialist), and there will be a non-campaign offline mode playable in co-op (though they haven't said outright whether this is Instant Action). There will also be no Season Pass, and both classes and weapons will be fully customizable. Space battles will feature prominently, and there will be a single player/co-op component beyond the campaign, with the ability to take your progress online.
So far, the following locations have been confirmed: Hoth, Endor, Takodana, Starkiller Base, Naboo Theed, Mos Eisley, Yavin IV. There was also concept art of a Clones VS CIS Battle on Kamino, which also included art of Jango's Slave I and Obi-Wan's Delta-Class Interceptor.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017)
Not even that: the game play style sounds like it is very, very different. Almost like they were trying out the ideas of First Assault rather than Battlefront.
The Origin entry has also updated slightly with the following info about single player:
The Origin entry has also updated slightly with the following info about single player:
Kind of sounds like CoD's Combat Training mode, which IIRC is just the online modes with bots. Then again, there is a chance it's enhanced Missions/Battles/Survival-type gameplay, just with the ability to unlock things and progress as opposed to handing you a one-off amount of meagre credits. However, EA_David said this:Train Offline. Practice makes perfect. Enjoy solo offline play where you can earn rewards, customise troopers and heroes, then bring your upgrades into the online multiplayer battleground.
EA has listened to everything else so far. It won't impact on my decision to buy the game if the Offline Training mode isn't an enhanced Skirmish, but it might impact my decision on pre-ordering.From what I've seen the Skirmish modes that were added to Battlefront 1 were very popular, and I know I'd personally like to have lots of solo/co-op skirmish options.
However at this time we don't have any more info than what's been released already.
I'm sure we'll have more details as we get closer to launch, but for now I can't confirm or deny anything, sorry.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017) - GAMEPLAY VIDEO
I apologize for the bump, but a new trailer has been released:
Additionally, ALL DLC will be free, with the first being the planet Crait from The Last Jedi, with Phasma and Finn as the heroes. Honestly, I'm a little surprised Finn won't be in the base game. It'll release in December.
For all of you offline players, Skirmish is returning, though we don't know if all game modes will be available offline or not.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront II (EA 2017) - GAMEPLAY VIDEO
I watched the livestream and the gameplay videos and I have to say, it looks a lot more fun than the previous title. It also seems that you get a ton more points for playing the objective this time.
In all honesty, I was thinking "now THIS is Battlefront" while watching. And it should have been what they gave us the first time.
Interesting to hear the Clone Wars voice actors (Dee Bradley Baker and Matthew Wood) returning. Sam Witwer also reprises Maul from both The Clone Wars and Rebels, Temeura's back as Boba (and I'd guess Jango too) and it sounds like they got Daisy Ridley in for Rey.
The trailer also confirmed Kamino (Phase 1 clones) and Kashyyyk (Wookies as native helpers?).
It seems Droidekas are being left out, but that's no biggie as the Super Battle Droids look like beasts in their own right. Watch out for those wrist rockets!

I agree with everything you said, the livestream got me so excited! I like the new battle-points sistem, it's better than the powerups, for sure.ggctuk wrote:I watched the livestream and the gameplay videos and I have to say, it looks a lot more fun than the previous title. Maybe wookies will replace clone jump troopers on kashyyyk as special units.
I don't really like the clone wars voice actors, to be honest, but my game will be dubbed anyway, lol.
I'm trying to find somewhere the recorded live stream, so that I can watch it again and pay more attention to details, but I've not succeeded yet. It's hard to believe that nobody recorded it.
EDIT: I found it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQnPUAb7cOo

Droidekas are likely to be hero units, the CIS only has like 3-4 at most,
If we could mod this, we would be rich.
