Help with BFII crashing after munging

Post by ruasoh »

I created a map and munged it and I get the message about an error with the luac. I checked all of the lua's and there is no luac in BFII. When I go to run the game, it quits to desktop after the Battlefront II splash screen. Does anyone know what's up with this? I couldn't find anything about this in the forums or the documentation.

When did you get that error?

in-game? or 'while' it was mugning?

but maybe your problem with the .lua, is that you actually NEED a .luac? (whatever that is)

I got it after the first munge. After that it will just say "All done. Go and run Battlefront II" Here is the munge log

Common\munge PC
Munging addme.lua...done.
Copying files to Battlefront II directory:
"F:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData"
Addon dir exists, continuing...
Mod dir "BOE"exists, continuing...
Copying addme.script to mod dir...done
Copying "mission.lvl" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Copying "core.lvl" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Copying "BOE" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Copying "SIDE" to modDir\data\_LVL_PC\...done
Munge process finished
Files\LucasArts\Star was unexpected at this time.

This happens on both space and ground maps, with or without any modification to the preloaded settings. It seems like there is something I'm missing/forgetting to do, but I've looked just about everywhere and can't find it. BTW, the luac was the name of a lua file in BFI (I think it was for CW era, but it's been too long since I did any modding for BFI so I could be wrong) That name has been replaced by xxxg(or c, for clone wars)_1flag, cmn, etc. I even did a search of the folder for luac, just in case it was still hiding...

hmm...

COULD it be, that you've installed the Mod Tools in at a path WITH spaces? :o I know that caused some problems in the first Mod Tools...

btw, it IS supposed to say that you shold run SWBF2  even if I stop it

and yes, the luac is for the Clone Wars (noticed it 2 minutes later after posting last time  )

Good call on that installation path. I reinstalled using the DEFAULT directory and viola! No problems. All I wanted to do is have it in my BFII directory...Oh well. Thanks for the advice.
