Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
I bought the Xbox One version from RedBox for $6.00 US. Still haven't touched it though. I'll probably play a bit and then if I like the game and they have some huge DLC sale I'll probably pick those up. I was going to wait for the inevitable Game of the Year/Collector's/Complete Edition of the game, but I couldn't pass it up for 6 bucks.

You should've waited. The "Ultimate Edition" that is the base game and all the DLC was just released last week for $40 (not to be confused with the Ultimate Edition they had at launch that was the Deluxe Edition + the Season Pass for $100, way to go EA marketing team). Rumor is that it's gonna be part of some Black Friday sales, too.

Is all the DLC actually on that disc, or does it require them to still be downloaded/activated?Twilight_Warrior wrote:You should've waited. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to play every once in a while, but it's just not as good as I and many others wanted it to be. It is a beautiful-looking game, though.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
I don't know for certain, as I already own the season pass so there's no reason for me to get the Ultimate Edition, but it's more likely that you would still have to download the DLC, as the Rogue One DLC isn't out yet, and putting that much data on the disc would cause massive, horrid read/load times.

Meh, 40 dollars is still too much for me to be interested in it. I'm thinking like 20 dollars for all the DLC in some sale in the future. But honestly I just hope SWBF4 (or, according to EA, SWBF2) when/if it releases is backwards compatible with the DLC. Right now it's so multiplayer focused I'm not all that interested anyway.

Watch Gamestop and Best Buy on Friday. Word on the street is that Battlefront will be on sale for $10, and the Ultimate Edition for $20.

This summer I got the season pass for 20 or 30€ on amazon. Maybe it's so cheap in the cyber week again.

I'm really tempted at that price. The problem is I already have a major online shooter in Destiny, and it's so multiplayer-focused I still can't decide. Maybe I should try it out tonight.Twilight_Warrior wrote:Ultimate Edition for Xbox One and PS4 is $20 at Best Buy, and available digitally on PC for $20 on Walmart.com

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
I really like the new trooper outfits and the map looks nice as well. But i hope there will be more content then Death Star (just one big map that is split into parts for smaller mods)
But i don't like Jyn that much. Maybe it's because i got Tomb Raider in the cyber week fro 5€ and if you compare Jyn (2016) with the graphic of Lara (2013), i'd prefer lara

Here is the new sonic imploder (i guess, it's not official at all) explosion effect from the trailer:
Also it looks like there will be multiple islands for the big map.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
So, here's a breakdown of what's been in the stream so far:
-The A180 is multi-mode. You lose your Star Cards for those modes: sniper, rifle and ion. Actually kind of reminds me of Republic Commando.
-DT-29 - Revolver with six shots. You have to manually reload it, it has no overheat.
-TIE Striker: Strafing run sort of thing.
-U-Wing: Pilotable in Infiltration Phase 1 (random selection as to who gets to play in one, like the 'assigning pilots' in the Death Star DLC Battle Station mode). In Phase 2, the U-Wing is like the AT-AT: you only get a couple of minutes in it and can't control it outright, instead firing from a minigun with splash damage from the side.
-AT-ACT: Only appears in the Battle Beyond.
-Infiltration: Act 1 - escort the U-Wings to the gate. Act 2: blow up a cargo ship. Act 3: steal the datatapes.
-Armour: heroes can give or reduce armour which alters the damage you take. Krennic's ability is a debuff.
-No Ben Ben Mendelsohn or Felicity Jones for the voices.
-Infiltration, Blast, Turning Point, Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron are the modes, across a total of four maps.
-As expected, there is no seamless ground-to-space.
-Rank is being increased to 100. Two Imperial skins confirmed: Shoretrooper and Shoretrooper Commander.
-Walker Assault only has two phases instead of the customary 3, but there are still 2 AT-ATs. No AT-ACTs.
-No new skirmish content for the rest of the game's lifespan.

It amounted to "we're considering it for Battlefront 2". Not "we're going to put it it" - it only rates consideration.commanderawesome wrote:Seriously? Now i'm really pissed off. Did they give a reason?ggctuk wrote: -No new skirmish content for the rest of the game's lifespan.

It is, and it shows that DICE just don't care. They don't listen. And now they've lost my custom, which is a pity because I was considering getting BF1 as well, but I'm not now, and I'm not getting another DICE SWBF game.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
Seriously...Why are they still making this game? No I don't wanna sound mean or rude in any way. And I know they are having fun at this. But with all the opportunities they have, with all that materials, all the things...No new Skirmish anymore? I never bought any of the DLC's. Can't they be played alone or in co-op (no multiplayer)? Why are there new vehicles vut just AI-controlled? AT-ACT's are just background objects? No Hero Assault Mode on Scarif? Are there any two-seater vehicles yet like tanks or bombers in bf2? I am sorry I do not get much information as you, probably, but from what I know I still can't believe how less and less is being added to the game. I just don't want to keep complaining but If I read "no new skirmish content", or that AT-ACT's appear beyond the battle or just....Still no pilot-able Tie Defenders. No real fixes for game-breaking bugs (e.g. multiple heroes in WA or Hero Hunt...).
I do not care if EA told them how to do so...or if they just gave them a bad dead-line. The fact, that there are still bugs (From glitches to game-breakers), from Bespin...even from Outer Rim to Deathstar, in this game and have not been fixed yet, just lets me thing that DICE has no real interest in this game anymore. I know they are working on other titles but if they are not able to make a game (like this one) properly...then they shouldn't wonder why people stop buying their products. That's my opinion.
