1. Open up your model in a hex editor.
2. Search for "ATRB", keep searching until you find it next to "TX0D" and the name of the main texture of the model.
3. Go to the fifth dot after ATRB and replace it's hex value with "80".
I don't know whether or not the following steps are required, but it's what I did:
4. Open the main texture in GIMP.
5. Go to Layer -> Transparency and select "Add Alpha Channel".
6. Go to Layer -> Mask -> Add Layer Mask and choose "Layer's Alpha Channel".
7. Fill the layer mask with black, unless the object is black, then fill it with white.
8. Copy the whole image and paste it in the layer mask.
9. Go to Layer -> Mask and select "Apply Layer Mask".
10. Export and you're done!
(I'm pretty sure there's a way to do steps 1-3 in XSI or Mod Tool but I don't know how.)
Note: Lighting setting must be on at least medium for the effect to show up, and light bloom must be turned on to see reflective flares.

You can use ZETools to set the flags, too. Remember that the Hex and flag values are different.

I need two sound effects from the main menu, specifically the sound from when you hover over something and the sound from when you select something. Could someone please rip those for me, if possible?

not sure whether these are the same sounds. But have you looked in the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\Install\audio" there are the sound files from the splash start screen. But not sure whether these are the same from the main menu or not.

Re: All-Purpose Request Thread (Mk. IV)
Hello GT,
I spent around 7 hours on trying munging customs sounds files but I'm desperate, I can't find the right way to do this! (despite the number of tutorials, here, at gametoast!)
So I have 3 custom sounds converted in .wav (352 Kbps) and I will need someone to munge them please.
Since I'm not sure if I can release these sounds in public, I can't post them on this post. So if you are able to do this, please, PM me and I'll send you the files.
Many thanks modders and mappers

Re: All-Purpose Request Thread (Mk. IV)
Has anybody ever seen textures or meshes for other rooms of Echo Base, namely living quarters, medical centre etc?

I know it's off topic, but just in order to notify you that steps 4 to 10 are unnecessary. I just triedcommanderawesome wrote:For gloss:Kingpin wrote:Looking for a good tutorial on gloss / specular maps. Anyone have one?

Does anybody have ambient streams for Hoth or Kamino?
EDIT: Found them in the SWBF Sound Effect thread.

Hey guys, I'd really be glad if somebody could do a quick kitbash for me.
I'd like this guy's head (found in the imp assets)
on this body model:

Has anyone released an rig for swbf character animation? I feel like that would be really useful for the community to have.

Here ya go!
Note: He already had a skin for the Imperial Officer, so when I kitbashed it, that is the skin that was used. He does have a skin complete for that model, though.
