Best of PC Version and 1.2/1.3 patch

What's poppin,
I was trying to make a flythrough vid for a map I made, but I can't get the 1.2 or 1.3 patch installed. Yes, unfortunately I have the best of pc version, which I think causes the patch to say it is not compatible with my version. Is there a way of getting the documentation from the 1.3 patch from somewhere else? I stumbled across it when I read the 'how to make flythrough vid' topic. But of course getting the patch installed wouldn't be too bad if it is possible....

Do you mean the Fan Favorites 1 version? Best of PC only has Battlefront 1, the 1.3 patch is only for Battlefront 2. I have the Fan Favorites 1 version of Battlefront 2 and the 1.3 patch works fine for me. What kind of error are you getting?

Wait, it says that when you try to install the 1.2 or 1.3 patch? That sounds like the error users get when they try to install the wrong region-version of the official 1.1 patch.

Do you have battlefront 1 or battlefront 2?

both, but this problem concerns Battlefront 1, I have the best of Pc version, and it seems there are some issues with installing the patches, as i said I get a message saying the patch isn't compatible with my version, I used the proper versions for my region though, neither of the pacthes is working, am I just being mildly retarded or is there really a Problem? Has anyone of you guys tried to install the patches for the BoPC Version? by the way I'm using Windows 7, 64-bit, if that's any help...

The 1.3 patch doesn't work for Battlefront 1 at all, regardless of what version you bought. It's for battlefront 2.

Oh I'm confused, what is the 'How to:Install BETA 1.3 and keep 1.2 patch installed.' Topic about then? It's in All things SWBF1 and the patches I dloaded were in the Star Wars Battlefront 1 category, too, but I might be grievously mistaken

The 1.3 patch doesn't work for Battlefront 1 at all, regardless of what version you bought. It's for battlefront 2.

1nfiltr4t0R is likely talking about the official SWBF1 patches, not RepSharpshooter's 1.2 or Zerted's 1.3 for SWBF2. The Best of PC disc does not come with SWBF2.

Sorry, I don't play SWBF1 on PC (only Xbox) so i'm not familiar with those patches. Do you think BoPC SWBF comes with all the necessary patches?

Well I think it's deffo coming with the 1.1 patch, since Tatooine: Jabba is included and map names are also showing in the loading Screen. The 1.2 and 1.3 Beta patches have to be installed seperately, so it'S just coming with 1.1. Still weird that I can't update it to at least 1.2, cos the 1.3 Beta is US only and I own a german copy of the game...but anyway, I tried all Versions of the 1.2 Client patch and it wont work,, keeps telling me it's not compatible with my Version of Battlefront.

Well, I use the Best of PC version of SWBF1 as well, and I'm able to play mods on it and play online (If it weren't for my internet connection. But I have played online on other computers using the exact same copy). So I don't see any reason to update it.

Hmm well the free camera feature is pretty useful, but I guess the SPTest Loader does the trick if you want to make a flybymovie or something...nonetheless it's bugging me that I can't update it...

Anyway I got to install the 1.2 patch, the BoPC version Comes with the 1.1 patch. I'm still having issues with the 1.3 Beta Version, i guess it'S because I have a german copy and the 1.3 Beta is US only...is there any way to change the language, or like a way to bridge that Problem??

From what I've heard on SWBFGamers, don't bother with 1.3, it has many bugs. Is there any particular reason you need 1.2?

If you have any DVD version of SWBF1 (including Best of PC) is comes with 1.2 already installed, so the 1.2 patch won't install.

Here is the scoop on 1.3 beta for SWBF1:

-it won't install/work unless you have the original CD version of the game (no DVD versions at all) This is due to the macrovision copy protection
-LAN mode doesn't work for MP and of course, no internet gamespy support (or GameMaster support) for multiplayer

It has some nice features in it though, and it is not buggy.
