Want to know about a game? Should we buy that new upcoming release? Post your thoughts on new games and ones you have...so others can know whether to buy it or not! All non-SWBF, non-modding topics should go here.
No PS3 or Xbox 360 release? Well at least there will be PC.But no mod tools is just making even more worried about this.Well this game better be good.I'll be watching videos of it to determine if I'll buy this.
I am pretty sure they will develop it for the xbox 360 and ps3. It would make sense since not everyone is going to buy a new console right away. They would make a LOT more money if they did release it on the older consoles too. But, dont take my word for it, as I can't source my information.

They also have just started development, it might not be out for a good 2-3 years.
If its not for 360, I don't know what Ill do. There is a 0% chance of me getting an Xbox one and also, to be honest, a great chance of getting a ps4 either because I actually don't think I really need a new console. Hopefully also they will have instant action, as I play that more than online. Also they have to bring back bots because you can't do single player without them.
Well since it will likely not be on wii u...and im not sold on microsofts console im thinking PS4? Though realistically I see myself getting this game around two years in the future when a nice PS4 bundle is ready. Im not getting a PS4 at launch like some people are, which is fine. It's their money, but ima wait.
I'll solve your problem for you. Get a good PC/upgrade your current one. :p It won't be much if any more expensive than buying a new PS4 depending how you go about it.
I'm a bit confused at the question between first or third person. I'm normally very, very hesitant to say this about something I really don't know that much about, but would it be so hard for DICE to put in third person? I know Battlefield is first person, so that's what they have the most experience with, but Battlefronts 1&2 have an option to switch between first and third. And adding third person doesn't seem like it would take more work compared to making all those SW assets.
TBH, I wouldn't really care if it were first-person only, though the option to switch back and forth is quite nice in BF2.
Yes there are reasons: Because of the Perfomance there have to be a diffrence between 1st person and 3rd person weapons and that mean 30 second polygon reduction and exporting. Thats waaay to much worktime
Yeah, I was thinking about this earlier. If anything, first person is more work (requires special first person models), whereas third person is just the unit model. I would personally like it if both options were there
They're getting payed to do this, and if they did any research at all they would know that Battlefront is primarily 3rd person. The more time they spend on the game, the better.

I don't think we can tell what the new game will be like from what the old games were like. They said that they want SWBF3 to be "what the old ones should've been" - given they're primarily FPS (battlefield), I'm guessing SWBF3 will be FPS given they'd think that the old ones should've been FPS.

We have to remember not to use our own speculation as evidence.
Battlefront is a vehicle experience, it’s a character experience. DICE has proven, in how they develop Battlefield, as far as being able to do air, land, sea combat, all the way up to F-18s fighting,” Gibeau told IGN. “They’ve been able to demonstrate through the Frostbite tech and through their design capabilities and talent that they can create these huge, epic set-piece wars. That’s kind of the dream of Battlefront. Hoth, the battle of Hoth. You’ve got space, you’ve got the surface, you’ve got infantry, you’ve got AT-ATs. That’s the table stakes that they come in with. They know how to do that. They’re really good at it.”
“But they’re not just going to ape what we’ve seen in the past,” Gibeau continued. "They’re going to bring their own sensibilities and design ideas. We want to innovate. We want to try new things. You guys had a blog on your site that said, ‘hey, what would you like to see in Battlefront?’ There’s a lot of stuff in there that we’re planning on doing. There’s a lot of new stuff that we’re looking at too. From our perspective, it’s capturing that epic, Star Wars, all-out huge scale. That’s what we’ll go after.”
My problem with seamless ground-to-space is that you're vastly reducing the number of human players on the ground or in the sky if you're forcing them to choose between one or the other at any one given time. This problem would be solved if there was AI fighters/bombers.
