SWBF3 Announced
Hey guys this is a great Day for SWBF gamer. The sequel is announced.
But probably not modable because of Frostbite 3.
So i know i wrote a smilar topic in Game Discusion but this is something else:
We should collect signs to tell EA that we dont want:
-Commercials for other games in game
-buy the half game(unplayable) for 60 dollars and then pay another time 20 to get all maps
-any other bad things ea did in past
It is really critical because a unmodable game wont be bought by me and many other modders too.
So lets tell ea this

Re: SWBF3 Announced
EA is trying to turn around their image, so I don't think you'll see ads in the game. On the other hand, mod tools and DLC are out of our hands. DLC is a way of life at this point. I wouldn't matter who developed and published this game, we'd be getting lots of DLC for it. DICE have stated their tools are too difficult for users (this was with Frostbite 3), so it probably goes doubly so for Frostbite 4 tech.

In good time, Fusion. I'm scared we'll get 20 different "What do you want in SWBF3??!??!?!" threads.

Considering how many of those we've already gotten without a SWBFIII dedicated thread, I share your fears.Teancum wrote:In good time, Fusion. I'm scared we'll get 20 different "What do you want in SWBF3??!??!?!" threads.

Re: SWBF3 Announced
I literally cannot believe this, Teancums presence somehow validates this as true in my mind, I'm really excited but I'll try to not to anticipate it too much until we definitively know it'll be released.

Re: SWBF3 Announced
ARC do you really thing ea can stop developing that game? If thats happens EVERYONE will hate them. Its some kind of promise, which had to be hold
Maybe frostbite 3 is modable...
My two mayor questions are
-What will hapen to swbattlecry?
and
-Will there be modtools?
if the secon one will get a "no" then i prefer The Battlecry team because cryengine is excellent modable

Re: SWBF3 Announced
I just hope they bring forward the features that made the Pandemic game so popular, i.e. third person and single player maps, not just a campaign or at least give third person as an option.
A first person multiplayer only game doesn't appeal as much although I'll still buy it of course, it's Battlefront... basically the series that got me into gaming.

Re: SWBF3 Announced
IF SWBF3 actually comes out this time and EA doesn't get nuked or something from the curse , and IF its for 360, in the game I would like to see ground to space battles and some sort of ingame level editor thing, like forge or whatever it is for halo. If they had that I wouldn't really care if they didn't have mod tools. Speaking of which, I don't really get why they are saying its too complicated. If their own people could figure it out, surely many competent programmers out their could figure it out too.

Re: SWBF3 Announced
I don't really believe they think releasing mod tools would be too complicated, it's more a case of losing sales in their estimation which is a load of hokum imo, as mod tools in the long term make more people buy it. Just look at the success of Battlefield 2 and The Elder Scrolls series.Cleb wrote:IF SWBF3 actually comes out this time and EA doesn't get nuked or something from the curse , and IF its for 360, in the game I would like to see ground to space battles and some sort of ingame level editor thing, like forge or whatever it is for halo. Re: SWBF3 Announced
A simple way to deal with that would be to release mod tools a little while after releasing the last DLC, if not as the last DLC. Or making them premium-exclusive.Jendo7 wrote:I don't really believe they think releasing mod tools would be too complicated, it's more a case of losing sales in their estimation which is a load of hokum imo, as mod tools in the long term make more people buy it. re: Star Wars Battlefront (3?) mod tools
Pandemic and LucasArts were (very) nice and let us play with their toys. I don't see anyone affiliated with Disney or EA being so generous. They were too busy counting their allowance while we were watching all those sharing lessons on Sesame Street. I don't think they know how to play nice.
As for too complicated.. well, thats just arrogance talking. Us knuckle dragging plebs couldn't possibly figure out how to count to triangle like they do.
