TF2: Mann vs. Machine
Team Fortress 2 is getting Horde/Firefight/Survival Mode. Only Valve would add something so large to a game 5 years after it's initial release.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
This made me want to re-download TF2, and start playing again. I wish I had the hard drive space for it.
Valve, I love you.

Fusion beat me to it
Just read the comics to go along with it.
Looks like destroying robots will earn you money which you can use to buy upgrades to your weapons between rounds.
Also, there will be loot at the end of the different missions.

I figured I would post it because one staff member would have to edit the video into someone's post eventually.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
Shoot. I might actually have to get into TF2 now, these kinds of modes are usually pretty fun. Except Onslaught... Ugh...
Was moderately disappointed that the dove wasn't a spy, though.

I'm keeping my eye on this. Anyone on GT interested in playing as a group? This might be one reason they added that new server-finder.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
I'd be in if I had the HDD space for TF2. It's a very large game, and my HDD isn't exactly that big. And it's already loaded with games, and then all my modding files (which it doesn't help that I'm working on TCW again, munged files double the amount of space taken).
So if I manage to free up the needed space I'd be interested in playing with you guys.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
I recommend THIS be put on your Christmas list, because you really are missing out on a fantastic game.
Either that, or you could zip up games until you want to play them. Might take a bit of extra time to unzip them than just popping the disc in and playing, but it'd be less time than uninstalling and reinstalling every time for space.

Well I'm broke as hell, so the external is not an option. I'll see what games I could 7zip, and see if I can get around to it.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
My body is hopefully ready for this. I've been waiting for a year when serious rumors started about it. I"m soooooooo pumped. It's amazing how Valve has supported and continued TF2. The mythology is hilarious and well done and just. WOW. I love it.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
A tip for anyone interested in playing this: don't use the matchmaking system, it's very, very broken. I spent about an hour and a half trying to join a server with a buddy of mine; later on, everyone in said server had to leave, there were only the two of us left, and the dang system wouldn't add anyone to our match, we couldn't progress any further.
A viable alternative is to join servers manually through the server browser. Even if the team is already full, you can still spectate and join the match as soon as somebody leaves. It's waaaaaaaaaay faster than waiting at the queue.
The game-mode itself is fun and very challenging, I just hope they fix this atrocious mess of a matchmaker.

After trying it out, what are your impressions?
I'm amazed at how my teammates seem to not understand my requests to hit the f4 key instead of standing there taunting...

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
Hahaha ya, even with friends we forget. I think we're use to Killing Floors set up. MvM works well and is alot harder than I though it would be. It was also different from KF which is good and I love the upgrade station.

Re: TF2: Mann vs. Machine
People in MvM often give me these weird looks, as if they were expecting something from me, and it takes me an entire minute to figure out that they were actually waiting for me to press F4. I'll definitely have to get used to that.
