Rare Games
I'd like to know if anybody here owns or has played a game or games that you know or believe to be hard to find. I'm sure some of us have played at least one rare game before. My list:
-Jedi Outcast - I have literally seen this on store shelves only twice, and the second time was when I bought it, and even then, it was in the Best of PC collection. Not "obscure" per se, but it was hard to find before Steam.
-Pink Panther: Passport to Peril - Okay, so this was one of those "kids point-and-click games" some us are probably familiar with, but I have never heard of anyone else owning this. There were games like Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt that I know some of my friends owned in their childhood, but as far as I'm concerned, I'm the only person I know of that has this game. There was also a sequel which more people seem to have played, judging by the number of Youtube videos of it.
-Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures - Ordered this over the Internet, saw it in stores exactly once.
-Claw - A platformer made by Monolith Games; I have never met anybody who has even heard of this game, which actually surprises me, considering that Monolith has made some good games in the past.

Re: Rare Games
As you said, Jedi Outcast isn't really rare. When it was released (and for 3-4 years after) you could find it just about anywhere. When game stores stopped taking used PC games it disappeared.

Disney's Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon
It's actually the most fun I've had with a RTS game. It isn't very complex at all, which is what sold it for me. And? It's about space pirates. Winning.
You control a small fleet, customize the weapons and the crew of each individual ship, and go head to head against different fleets (well, in the instant action/multiplayer). The campaign is also really super fun.

I think that game was featured in 3D Mark 06 as one of many benchmarking games!Twilight_Warrior wrote:Disney's Treasure Planet: Battle at Procyon

Re: Rare Games
Hey, I own Four Swords adventures, too! Other than that, though, I don't think I have many "rare" games. Unless you mean games that are so bad they have a tiny demand.

What I mean are either games that are just plain hard to find (doesn't necessarily have to be obscure), or good games that nobody has heard of.CressAlbane wrote:Hey, I own Four Swords adventures, too! Agreed. I have many memories from this game.Grev wrote:Lego Island 2. Such a fantastic game.
Spider-Man: The Movie Game was lots of fun back in the day; sadly, it's terribly hard to find, and I've lost the disk.

Re: Rare Games
I own quite a few "rare" games
Playstation
Japan version - Dragon Ball GT Final Bout
Japan version - Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22
Japan version - Dragon Ball Z Legends
Resident Evil - Directors Cut
Metal Gear Solid
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
PC
Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (and you said JK2 was rare HA)
Rogue Squadron
Shadows of the Empire
X-Wing Alliance
Playstation 2
Front Mission 4 (PS2)
Dreamcast
Sonic Adventure (I bet I'm one of the very few here who owns a dreamcast)
Sonic Adventure 2
House of the Dead 2 (got a gun too)
I also think I have a virtual boy somewhere, google that and let your mind be blown. You guys are posting games that are not that old and can still be found online without much trouble for a decent price.

Wow...I honestly can't believe that I forgot about Mysteries of the Sith. >.< I don't even think I've met anyone who has even heard of that, and said people have played Jedi Knight.
Also, Battle for Naboo, anyone? Fun little game that played just like Rogue Squadron.

Re: Rare Games
Only games off the top of my head are the Zelda Collector's Edition (Which I don't think is especially rare), and Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest. I actually do have Four Swords Adventures, but I didn't think it was rare at all. Ooh, I've got that Metroid Prime Hunters Demo that came with the DS. Is that rare? :p
I do have quite a collection though and I'm sure some of my obscure PS2 games are considered rare.

Re: Rare Games
Oh, you were being sarcastic? Hmm, yeah, now that I think about it, you couldn't have possibly only read the title of the topic, at least not all the way . The title is "Rare Games" after all, and you only posted one! But I guess Dohnutt kind of made up for that. I'm terribly sorry for accusing you and him for doing such a thing.GangsterJawa wrote:AQT, I expect better sarcasm detection from a moderator.AQT wrote:And that's what happens when you only read the title of the topic...
To make up for this mistake, I will post a link to the complete list of games created by the company Rare.

There. I just saved you and the like the trouble of having to interrupt a nice conversation about hard to find games by attempting sarcasm.
