Loved what I've seen so far. I'm at the end I think now. The cameos from ME2 were nicely done, and there were several hilarious scenes. Playing as a vanguard is amazing! Makes a few a of the boss fights very satisfying! Can't really give a opinion on the MP since I haven't found any matches ...

Looks like the "From Ashes" character was on the disc the whole time. Don't you just love it when features are cut and then claimed to be side projects?

It was clear from the dialogue he had he was in it from the beginning. It's quite sad what DLC has become.

Of course they had to put him on the disc. Can you imagine the total nightmare it would have been to integrate him into such a tangled weave of a game through DLC? I don't know if you've ever tried to mod a Bioware game, but unique character conversations, weapons, animations, etc are littered everywhere. The DLC pack would have been 2+GB instead of ~700MB if they had included everything solely in the DLC anyway. I don't blame them.

Still, none of that includes the backstory missions, which were completed later. No need to be conspiracy theorists, here. I shall refer to the image below for clarity. Having worked with the industry as a journalist this is 100% true for 95% of situations:

THANK you, exactly! And even if BioWare "did it for the money", so what? That's their own decision; the decision-makers will have to pay for their greedy acts later in their futures.

The only gripe I have with the situation was EA/Bioware's presentation of it and the fact it was only free in the Collector's Edition. But what can you do.

I just finished Mass Effect 3 and I have to say after 26 hours, what a fantastic game. I honestly didn't mind the ending. I chose

. Maybe it's because Deus Ex HR prepped me for it. I am excited for what lies ahead with the ME franchise.

Looking over the span of the trilogy, it's quite impressive feat. And I'd totally would have been more into the story if the face import was broken.

Just go into Mass Effect 2, go into the Squad menu, write down your genetic code, go into Mass Effect 3, type it in when you customize your Shepard, and BAM; that's what I did and it worked perfectly.

i got it today and my first impression:
TOTAL CRAP!
this was the first and will be the last game from ea i bought shortly after release.
origin is totally stupid, the options menu doesnt work, the buy stuff and view on store buttons do of course.
i started the game for the first time: black with hourglass cursor ad some sounds, then back to desktop. i reopened the task and could now see the bioware video. afterwards 10 second connecting to ea servers and 2 second checking dls, what?
now, what belongs into the main menu? not the option. an entry for dlcs of course!
then it doesnt find my me2 character..all right so ill make a new one.
after the first cutscene i realize i cant save, great. mess effect 3 cant save if your documents arent located on the system drive. a look at the textures in the firts 10 minutes confirmed my conviction: mess effect 3 was a mispurchase and bioware has become another poor consoledevelopment studio that slaps in a resolutionsetting and mouse control and calls the game a pc version.

Whoa, dang, that sucks, D.U.C.K.! But then, I think it's more due to possible lack of beta testing on a larger variety of computer builds. I am frustrated, though, since my game freezes whenever I try to use the elevator to go to Huerta or the Embassies for the first time on the Citadel. D8

the problem is that they for some reason removed the proper detection of the user documents. it worked in me1, in me2 i had to create the folder manually then it worked and now me3 cant detect the user files at all when they arent on the system partition.

Strange, minus the silly length of time to check EA server connection and DLC (really?) I've had none of the problems listed above. My ME2 file was found no problem. I had more trouble getting my ME1 file into the right place for ME2 than I did for 3.

Now that I'm actually playing through it I only have three complaints thus far:

1) Herp Derp moments - Given the scale of the game it's totally excusable, but there are moments where animations flat out jump (I.E. no smooth transition) and I've had a few crazy eye moments. At one point Shepard was talking via comm to Hackett and his eyes were in the back of his head.

2) CONSTANTLY loading - I've been around long enough to know Bioware's tricks, and it bugs the heck out of me that a door on the same deck of the Normandy takes 10 seconds to open. It's clearly a cheated load. Still, I love the animated sequences when they're not trying to hide that something's loading.

3) Kinect - I can command most of the team with relative ease, but for some reason the game never listens to me when I command Javik. Annoying -- he's usually on my team.

On the bright side I **LOOOOOOOVE** the large-scale sequences. The reaper encounter on Tuchunka (sp) felt like a blockbuster movie.

The thing that bothers me most about the ending is that no matter what the Mass Relays get destroyed. I would have been fine with Shepard's death if need be.

This.^ I'd be fine with his death (although I'd really prefer a happy ending for him and the galaxy but I wouldn't moan too much if I couldn't do that) if the entire Galaxy wasn't stranded and screwed. What about all the Turians and Quarians in the Sol System? Without proper food they'll all die. I laugh at anyone who says "oh they can just rebuild the Mass Relays, it's all fine." Sure. Good luck with that. Oh, and here's another plot hole. When they blew up a Mass Relay in the DLC Arrival, it destroyed an entire Star System. With this logic, every system with a Relay should be destroyed, including the Sol System.

What was the point of all the work I did in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2?

The only way I would have liked the ending would be if the during the final cutscene Bohemian Rhapsody played.
