Spark Unlimited's Projects
The video game developer Spark Unlimited is now working on two new games, according to their website.

I'm pretty excited to see what they are coming out with. Is anyone else here interested in these new projects?
Please discuss.

I concur. :plokoon:
I'm not even very impressed with Spark, I wouldn't want them to make SWBF3. Yes, we were all thinking it. The only reason why Spark is getting so much attention is because people think they're making SWBF3. I hope they aren't, because I don't want it to suck. They have only made 3 big title games, and they are average at best. I don't even remember how on Earth the rumor started that Spark would be making it.
Their games lack proper execution every time. They have decent ideas, but they suck at the follow through. An action/adventure game, and an action/horror game. One of them is more likely than not a sequel to one of their other games, like Legendary or Turning Point. Turning Point had an interested idea, but their shortcomings outweigh the story.

Re: Spark Unlimited's Projects
I have to agree with WULF; Spark Unlimited would likely do a poor job on the project, the evidence is in their history of games. I would like to see DICE, or Valve, or even better yet, see Raven Software develop Battlefront III. All three companies have more than twice proven that they definitely know how to produce a quality game.

Please keep BF3 discussion out of this guys!
None of the information that they have posted about the next two games leads in those directions. But hey, I may be wrong.

Re: Spark Unlimited's Projects
Totally disagree with the first two. DICE would make it Battlefield-ish (SWBF is a bit more arcadey), Valve wouldn't get it released until 2015. Raven, however, would be amazing. I literally have loved every game of theirs I've ever owned. (quite a few)Marth8880 wrote:I would like to see DICE, or Valve, or even better yet, see Raven Software develop Battlefront III.
In regards to Spark's projects this topic would never have been created if it weren't for the SWBF3 rumor, so I don't see how you can separate them. And as far as how I feel if they actually are working on SWBF3 -- let's just say until I get my hands on it I wouldn't trust most dev studios.

Re: Spark Unlimited's Projects
HAHAHAHAHA, it's so true regarding Valve!!! And yeah, I guess I can kind of agree with the Battlefield feel instead of the arcade, platformer feel. Raven Software would be, hands down, the best developer for a new Battlefront.Teancum wrote:Totally disagree with the first two. Re: Spark Unlimited's Projects
This is why people are thinking they're making BFIII btw:
It might be a huge coincidence but you can see why, they do use a rather famous Star Wars phrase and use the term "fronts." It'll probably be a Star Wars game at least, but who knows if it's the one we actually want.

Oh, I never knew about source number two...
Well, that's just about enough convincing I need to have a strong feeling that the project is, indeed, a new Battlefront game. Also, since they have a few employees from Pandemic Studios on the team, the chances of the game not sucking go up.

It's too vague. It could really be anything. There's no point in rumors and false hopes and stuff. They'll announce the name, and the rumors won't matter any more.

Now I'm sure it's Battlefront.
I thought Republic Commando 2 could be possible too, but that's not 3rd Person...

3rd Person Action/Adventure? That doesn't really sound like Battlefront to me.

Re: Spark Unlimited's Projects
Well, I just did a search for 'Action/Adventure' on wookiepedia, and pulled these games out of the list that followed.
Star Wars: Lethal Alliance
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is specifically labelled as 3rd Person Action/Adventure. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter II, maybe?

Lethal Alliance and Bounty Hunter are popular? We are in production on an unannounced high-profile, popular game sequel for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC release.

That's a good point. However the "popular" part may just refer to the franchise. in this case, Star Wars.Marvel4 wrote:Lethal Alliance and Bounty Hunter are popular? We are in production on an unannounced high-profile, popular game sequel for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC release.

If you think it isn´t BF3 then have a look at this and the next episode of it:
This Video is about the proof of star wars BF III it´s quite a lot of talking, but if you are interested in it have a go.

It's a lot of talking and a lot of images but there was no real proof. He just showed a bunch of boxart for other games, the canceled Free Radical game, and a video of himself playing the first Battlefront.
I'd hate to be mean here but people like this aren't experts, they know just as much (actually a lot less) than any of us here do. Just because they can set up a Youtube channel doesn't mean they know anything.
