i thing kinotesimpetus one is better. the laser isn't continuous line. this is more realistic. and i think the laser should only be there if you hold the weapon direct to shoot and not while holding it down to earth.

Re: How does it work?

It's part of the first person weapon msh, so it's only visible to the player holding the gun, and only when in first person. The laser line is very thin, so it only renders about 1 pixel wide. The dot is a disc, id guess 2 to 4 xsi grid units in front of the laser sight. The texture might as well be 2x2 pixels for all the detail it doesn't give. It's basically just a red square. Edit Flags on the laser msh parts are 04 00 00 00 02 00 00 00.

It follows the gun around when it moves, like the small movements while idle, shooting and the large ones like reloading, jumping, deactivating a jetpack in midair, falling, and it doesn't point to the center of the screen usually, so it's not the best for aiming use. The actual reticule is best.
