Rhen Var: Harbor (EX) - Release Candidate v1.0

Post by DarthFannel »

In case someone still wonders if I am Vampire Lord, well, I am... and I am still working on this, please report any bugs or issues with the mod.

Just to make it clear as always THIS IS NOT A RECYCLED RHEN VAR HARBOR, so, no Convo Pack issues, it is more like an extension with some custom side stuff, I made it with multiplayer in mind but it plays pretty well on single.

um....I think you should have put this in the released map forum.

Anyhoo, I think this is all fine and dandy. Did you piece it together yourself, or did you take the level and edit it?

I pieced it together from scratch, it all began as a different assortment of Rhen Var stuff, but then I decided to duplicate + expand the map, the size was at least three times bigger than the shipped one, and finally just 1.5 the size.

BTW, the cave has something weird, lightsaber textures and every blaster or light including the holocron light from the CP is somewhat blocked, I thunk the convo pack R.V.H doesn't have that problem but I don't have any clue of how to fix it. That and some other details make this map qualify as "still in development" so I can't consider it a full release.

This is a known problem with Rhen Var tunnels. It's something to do with transparency; I believe Marvel4 fixed it. Maybe you should ask him?

Sorry for the late answer.

The only solution to this bug is to remove transparency, you can do this with a Hex-Editor (see FAQ).

Thanks for the reply, well, I think the effect would be quite bad if I remove transparency (not to mention a hassle with hex editing), as long as the mod has a smooth gameplay I think is ok to keep that flaw.

BTW, I discovered the Rhen var lego 8x8x8 doesn't cast a shadow XD, I'll need to change the lighting since I used those blocks a lot and all debris cast a floating shadow over the non existant shadow of those blocks.
