Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
I keep forgetting you can increase reinforcement count in the map options but you can reduce them also, either way it doesn't really matter. I think the edge of the water is different in the stock map but maybe you can change NearScene/FarSceneRange or WaterInfo section in the worlds .sky file, but it's ok left as it is. The terrain color is fine then if it's been burned, just me being fastidious.Marvel4 wrote:About the reinforcements: You can change that in the map options
About the water: I'm not sure if I can change that and as far as I remember, it was the same in the stock Kashyyyk (but I will check that)
About the beach color: The terrain color is already the highest and I also burned it
About the vehicles: I decided not to use the AT-ST and spider droid, because I wanted the map to be more like the stock BF2 maps (heavy vehicles only on base planets like Geonosis, Hoth and Endor)
EDIT: Naboo: Plains finished!
Looking foward to Tatooine: Dune Sea. I was unable to get environment sounds working in my version, and tried most things including adding .wav sounds as streams recorded from the first game, but I don't think there are any similar sounds you can get from stock BF2.

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
Which was the stock BF2 map's main weakness: A severe lack of the more memorable vehicles, and too many vehicles that only appear on a single map when they could easily appear on others. There are three maps with the AT-ST on in BF2, and two of those are maps where they had to appear because of they were maps from the films. Pandemic replaced almost all of the BF2 AT-ST appearances with IFT-Ts, then practically cut out the IFT-X (which was the more common model; the Empire wanted to phase out the old Republic hovertanks like they did the Venators) I would even suggest, just for a change, putting the sadly uncommon Hailfire droid on Kashyyyk, but it rolls over water for some reason. It might work on Dune Sea.About the vehicles: I decided not to use the AT-ST and spider droid, because I wanted the map to be more like the stock BF2 maps (heavy vehicles only on base planets like Geonosis, Hoth and Endor)
That, and fighter tanks are used on AQT's conversion. Heavier vehicles would make your conversion different and more like BF1. (AQT's was designed to be a BF2 Kashyyyk Docks and had the same sky as BF2)
EDIT: Just finished playing Naboo: Plains. Nothing wrong that I can see. Have you thought of using the B1 battle droid for Hunt Mode?

You don't have to extract them, just run them and they will self-extract.

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
Nor do I; they've just become too ubiquitous in Battlefront 2. Perhaps use both AT-STs and IFT-Ts? That's one I haven't seen before. The CIS could even have the Dwarf Spider if it would work.@Lagomorphia: You have a point there, but I will keep the IFTs, I have no problem with them.
On the subject of vehicles, have you considered adding the AT-XT to any of the maps? It's a good vehicle that sadly appears rather little.

No, I don't think I'll add any new vehicles.

Nice work on these, if only they had Dark Times II support...

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
I think we should let the map maker do what he wants, seeing as he's done an amazing job so far, and not tell him he could do a better job by using a mod someone else has created. That's very rude, in my opinion. I'm sorry, but not every map is going to have DT2 support.0001111000 wrote:i agree with that suggestion.Blade117 wrote:Nice work on these, if only they had Dark Times II support...

You may add Dark Times II support to my conversions if you want. (I will send you the luas then)0001111000 wrote:i agree with that suggestion.Blade117 wrote:Nice work on these, if only they had Dark Times II support...

I'll take a shot at that when I get home on the 19th... I didn't mean what I said as a critiscism, it was just a thought. Just xurious, hard drive space-wise, how large are the .luas?

I hope Marvel doesn't mind me saying but you actually have to edit a lot more than just luas.Blade117 wrote:I'll take a shot at that when I get home on the 19th... I didn't mean what I said as a critiscism, it was just a thought. Just xurious, hard drive space-wise, how large are the .luas?
You would also need to edit the addme script, and edit the mission.req plus add a few extra scripts etc.

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
I know, I just read Mav's thread on adding DT2. I'm currently a bit confused, as I have never modded BF2 before, but I'll figure it out eventually. Or did you mean that I'll need more than just the luas? I'd assume he would send all the required files to me.

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
I'm sorry if my comment came across as it did. I'm not fussed whether it gets added or not but it would be a nice addition to these iconic maps that have defined the games series.Twilight_Warrior wrote:I think we should let the map maker do what he wants, seeing as he's done an amazing job so far, and not tell him he could do a better job by using a mod someone else has created. Btw Marvel the maps are great i finally got them to run turns out all i had to do was add .exe to the filenames because for some reason Vista just classed them as undefined files.

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
Are they .7z files? Weird, they generally (read: always) have worked for me, but I've not downloaded all of them, so a few might be like that. Just a question: when you get around to converting Kashyyyk: Docks, that map crashes for me in the conversion pack due to the type of water it uses (I think.) Is there anything you might do about this?

Re: Marvel4's BF1 Conversions (New: Naboo: Plains)
They are .exe files created by 7zip. For me, they always worked, but I heard that for some people the .exe ending is removed.
Did you try my conversion of Docks? I don't know how to fix it, if it crashes too. I heard that this also happens on stock maps.
UPDATE to Bespin: Cloud City: Improved the looks of the carbon freezing chamber.
UPDATE to Naboo: Plains: Bugfix: Vehicles exploded after a short time.
The next and last map (well, not really the last, there will be a "bonus pack" or something including Theed and Mos Eisley because they look much different than the BF2 versions) will be Tatooine: Dune Sea and since I want to release all maps in one pack, I need to know of all bugs, so the pack will be bugfree. Please report any issues to me (also small ones), especially missing sounds, vehicles and turrets. Thanks!
