Playstation Network

We recently bought an Alltel connect card that allows use to put a card into the USB port and receive internet access. We were told that our internet was too slow to get the PSN. I would just like the verify that. It runs at about 3.1Mbps and usually has 3 bars. Is this really too slow? What would be the recommended speed?

I wouldn't think so. Xbox Live can run on a 768k connection, you just have to be careful of what else you're running if you want to play online with that sort of connection. PSN should be fairly comparable.

I tried using an ethernet cable but it never found the IP address. I tried plugging in the card into the usb port at the front of the PS3 but nothing. I have the SSID but not the IP address.
