I don't know if I shouldn't talk about this before it comes out, but I will. I would really like to mod a more current game, and Crysis 2 looks good. I was simply wondering if anyone else will try to mod this game when it comes out, assuming a Sandbox editor is released. I found a picture of their game engine and it looks fun to be able to mod a game that looks like this:
Crysis 2

lol, no it is simply the game engine, CryEngine 3. It is just showcasing what is possible on the engine.

Hey, that's not nice. Just kidding though. Crytek better lower there specs for the game cause I won't be able to play on high settings, or apparently not even on medium with my current pc. (Learned that from the technical advice forum) I would just like to have a little more slack on the poly limit.The_Emperor wrote:And the understatement of the year award goes to...Wonderboy wrote: Crysis 2 looks good.

Re: Crysis 2
Crysis 2 should scale well enough. Crytek knows how to do PC games and the got CryEngine3 to scale down to Xbox360 standards and still looks better than everything else out there (although Halo Reach is the best looking 360 game so far).
If your system is better than a Xbox360 hardware wise, the Polygons won't matter, the biggest framerate killers are Lighting/Shading/Post-Processing/Ambient Occlusion.
For reference, with 2 basic lights, flat shading and Viewport hardware accelerated rendering a nVidia 9800GTX+ which is considered Low-End at its 90$ price point now days, can easily push over 3million triangles in a XSI scene. Current-Gen games don't even come close to that for an entire level.
