Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Very nice, AQT. Kashyyyk: Docks now looks like some old ghost town or something.

I can't really tell what's different, but then I haven't seen it in detail in a while...

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Thanks, guys. As for the water being too blue, when I took the screenshots the water detail setting was on the low. That could have made the difference but then again I was not trying to improve anything (to an extent), rather just match SWBF1 Kashyyyk: Docks to the stock SWBF2 Kashyyyk.
If it refers to the original Kashyyyk: Docks, then correction, you have not seen it at all. Differences/changes (some really major) are:kinetosimpetus wrote:I can't really tell what's different, but then I haven't seen it in detail in a while...
- cloudy day atmosphere and lighting as opposed to sunny, clear, and bright
- 'gray with moving gray clouds' sky as opposed to 'blue with stationary white clouds' sky
- heavy fog as opposed to none
- background mountains slightly recolored to match new enviroment
- normal laser turrets replaced with concussion and beam ones
- original platforms, platform roofs, walkways/ramps, and beach barriers replaced with SWBF2 ones
- original hut textures replaced with SWBF2 ones
- bloom added on models with emissive color originally enabled such as the lamp posts
- random explosions in water and on land like stock SWBF2
- ground textures replaced with complentary SWBF2 ones
- vehicles spawn for ownership of command post four and/or five
- original water replaced with stock SWBF2 Kashyyyk water

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
I have seen it, but it's been a loooong time. And my memory of it has probably become mixed between the original, the convopak, and bf2 kashyyyk.

Hmm... can't really judge the map with just one picture. Looks really dark and kinda spooky and the platforms look like they are on the inside of a ship.

Sorta looks like a cavern of some kind, but I agree, it's far too dark to really see anything. I think that it could have good atmosphere though.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Okay now that I see it I think it actually looks very good. I just worry about cramped dark spaces with lots of platforms to fall off...
Edit: Yeah Trainmaster caught my error I meant "fall" instead of "follow."

Did you mean: fall off
Kidding aside, I actually like the atmosphere you've captured. The cavern if it had more complex infrastructure would probably make a good map in itself.

Screens of my upcoming conversion of Tatooine: Dune Sea. I tried to make it like the ending of episode III, and changed the map name to Dune Sea: Sunset.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Nice ligthing, but imo the stones and the house is too grey, in order to fit the lighting you could reskinj them to somewhat more orange.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Thanks! That's a good idea, it would look more uniform but unfortunately my attempts at skinning have been terrible. Actually does anyone know of a good tutorial for Gimp as my knowledge is minimal at best.

Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
Since you'll only be mimicking the effects of the lighting, a simple hue/saturation edit would probably do the trick. The GIMP web site should have all the tutorials you need for easy jobs like that.Jendo7 wrote:Thanks! Re: SWBF2 Glamour Shots the Third
I think I've improved my maps lighting after messing about with the global light settings in zeroeditor. The second and 4th screens shows the new lighting.
