Looking for a secondary harddrive

Post by 501st_commander »

I have been looking for a secondary HD for my computer. I have found these two:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Seagate+-+500GB+Internal+Hard+Drive+for+Desktops/8294632.p?id=1172880157923&skuId=8294632
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152181
Are they good, and what SATA cable would I need?
Also, do you have any other suggestions? (500gb, SATA cable, less than $100)

thanks.

When it comes to hard drives, Western Digital are the best. Seagate and Samsung are OK, but WD surpasses them.

If you're on a $100 budget, you could just pick up a 1TB drive instead- they last a long time and it's very hard to fill them up.

Or, if you want a 500GB, then this should work as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822136073 $55.99

In terms of cables, the HDD should come with one for your usage. You don't need to buy another one. They're fairly easy to install- just put it in the bay, connect it to the PSU and the mobo, and you're good to go. The manual that comes with it can probably give you more specific directions.
