I seriously doubt its your mouse. Why not just use System Restore again and restore a future date? You can navigate with the keyboard.

nah i cant, remember you only have 3 days to enter the key until xp is completely un usable. and we didnt manage to figure out whats wrong in that time ! : (

EDIT: I wouldve restored again if i could, i could take a screenie of whats happening?
