Visualmunge error when creating new world [Solved]
So today I thought I'd try my hand at map-making since I haven't done it for a long time. But whenever I try to create a new world, I get something like: "The application requested this program be terminated in an unusual way". It won't let me copy the text, so I can't give you the full error message. However, it always happens as soon as it reaches "rewriting LDX file".

Re: Big, fat Visualmunge error
This reminds me of an error I had way back. It was so long ago, in fact, that I forget how it was fixed, just that it was.
So there's hope.![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: Big, fat Visualmunge error
If you haven't already make sure you type that in the Gametoast search engine and search to see if any one else like Fiodis had the problem. And if that doesn't work try Google."The application requested this program be terminated in an unusual way"

Okay, it did it again. I waited a day and it still didn't work. What now?

I am not sure why, out of any of the answers posted you chose the one that amounted to "hope really hard that it changes." Waiting for a computer program to work differently is rarely going to have any effect. Try what Ace mentioned above if you have not already.Darth_Squoobus wrote:Okay, it did it again. Okay, but even if I have internet eplorer closed while norton antivirus is deactivated, is there still ar risk my computer could get flooded with viruses and spyware?Maveritchell wrote:I am not sure why, out of any of the answers posted you chose the one that amounted to "hope really hard that it changes." Unless you already have a virus or some kind of malware, your computer won't autonomously start downloading anything bad.Darth_Squoobus wrote:Okay, but even if I have internet eplorer closed while norton antivirus is deactivated, is there still ar risk my computer could get flooded with viruses and spyware?

Re: Visualmunge error when creating new world
I get this error sometimes, what I do to fix it is restart my computer (If I get the error, which normally happens first time), and run it again (setting the destination folder to GameData\addon (instead of just Game Data)). If it doesn't work the first time after restarting, do it again, straight afterwards and see if it works then. Make sure all folders and other programs are closed, and don't do anything to the computer, even click anywhere while it is munging. It works for me, not sure if it'll work for you, but it's worth a shot. Just keep trying after restarting, I had to to do it about 5 times to create Bothawui, but I finally got it.

No need, all I had to do was turn off antivirus for a bit. But I'll remember what you said.sampip wrote:I get this error sometimes, what I do to fix it is restart my computer (If I get the error, which normally happens first time), and run it again (setting the destination folder to GameData\addon (instead of just Game Data)).
