Aldura Campaign - Part I

Post by Eggman »

Never thought you'd see the day that I actually released something, did you? Anyway, here it is:

Aldura Campaign - Part I

Story:
The CIS has taken control of the planet Aldura.
Although Aldura's industrial contribution to the
war is minimal, the planet's position in the galaxy
provides a strong tactical advantage to the faction
controlling it. Knowing this, the Republic has sent
a large invasion force to break the CIS blockade
and liberate the planet....

Modes:
Campaign - play through an objective-based mission that follows the story of the campaign to liberate Aldura.
Conquest - normal conquest gameplay.

Installation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Extract the downloaded file to an easy to find place on your computer, such as the desktop.

2) Place the extracted ALD folder in your Addon folder (usually C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\Addon).

3) Run Battlefront II. The maps will appear in the Instant Action menu.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have an updated shell that allows campaign mode to be selected in
the Instant Action menu. I recommend [RDH]Zerted's Unofficial v1.3 Patch,
available here: http://www.gametoast.com/forums/viewtop ... 35&t=14483

Wow...just played all the 3 campaign maps and they were really awesome, the 3rd is my favourite. Also the objectives are cool, good job.

Nice end btw, waiting for the next part. :)

its is,
i managed to play through all maps and they are great
and you fell really inside the battle and action (the plot thrugh the maps is also good)

some (hopefully constructive) criticism:
-when i played the second map first, i got stuck at the "take out the sbds"-objective, i couldnt find any of them and advanced to the turrets but i wasnt able to destroy them because i wasnt able to finish the previous one
-in the third map is maybe a bit "bare" for you can only find dead clones at the first cp, i would have expected to see some more at the destroyed vehicles/second cp

The problem with the objectives not proceeding in the second map seems to be an occasional bug a few people have reported having. If you just restart the mission you should be able to go through it just fine. In the fourteen months or whatever that I'd been working on the map I only experienced the bug once or twice, and I was never able to figure out a specific cause.

Yeah, uninstall any old maps. It shouldn't cause conflicts, and the maps are named differently, but there's no reason to keep outdated versions.

Do you mean they appear as ALS, AL3, etc.? If so, that's strange, since I though they were all localized properly in all languages; they should appear as Aldura Campaign with a number in front to place them in the proper order, as in (1) Aldura Campaign, (2) Aldura Campaign, and so on. If you can only see the three-letter name the order is ALS, AL3, AL4.

Cool space map, fun city map and interesting land map.

Are there any other space maps using those same models? And even better, with interiors?

As I already said this map pack is perfect, I really saw no bugs at all  !!! Playing for the 3th time I just realized that at the Space Campaing map (just like the old version of it) when you destroy the engines of the Recusant the objective is "regroup with the fleet because you opened space for the fleet to pass".... but the cruiser does not explode or leave it stays there so what is the point of it??? Wouldn't be better if he exploded???
