Blue Screens becoming more frequent
It seems as though ever since I've upgraded, I've been having more and more blue screens of death. For instance, just today I've had maybe 8 of them and it's not even 1pm. Does anyone know why this maybe happening?

BSOD after upgrades are usually outdated or incomparable device drivers or programs. Is it random or are you able to duplicate it by performing a certain action?

ow..
- 1. run the virus scan in safe mode
2. Does the blue screen of death show text? and if so try to take a picture of it with a camra (flash off).
3. check the microsoft forums.

I'll be sure to remember to do that the next time I get one. ![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

Yeah, a pic of the screen dump would be very useful. Way too much to remember. Also take about three separate BSOD pics. That way we can see if it is pointing to a single issue or possibly multiple.

Also the binary file that comes off of it, although only Microsoft can really understand what in the world they mean to my knowledge.

Re: Blue Screens becoming more frequent
My computer has given me more blue screens but I keep forgetting to get my camera to take a pic of it. We're hopefully gonna do a clean install this weekend.

If you can get a screen of it you may not need to perform a clean install. (recommended)

Well yes, but then we still have other issues with the PC that could be cleared when we do the clean install.

Is your computer that you upgraded a pre-built (i.e. hp, dell, etc.)? And was the upgrade Win 7 or hardware or both?

No, the computer was not custom built. I'm pretty sure my dad got it from Costco. And the upgrade was just Win7.

Re: Blue Screens becoming more frequent
What OS was on it before? Try going to WindowsUpdate.com and getting all the latest device drivers from there (it will install them for you). Like ShadowHawk said, blue screens are usually due to driver/hardware issues.
Oh, and when was the computer bought? Not everything has stable Windows 7 drivers yet, which is why I haven't upgraded. Even things as new as 2 years old *might* have issues.
