What it is...

A mod that adds an era to most stock maps.
It uses custom republic and cis sides.

Installation...

Copy/extract to your addon folder
(...LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\Gamedata\ADDON\-place "153" in here)

Known bugs\left to do...
floating weapons
localizations not finished
not all units have final model/skin
republic autoturret is result of a failed experiment, it will be fixed/replaced

That was interesting, I like the color scheme of your legion, I like that "shotgun" (it's actually a Flechette Launcher, but it doesn't matter that much) and I like the Magnaguard's weapons, however, I can't ignore the fact that this mod is unbalanced

You hate droids, right? :P That's the only explanation I can find for the lack of attention you gave to the Battle Droids; I'm sorry, but that is absurd, how do you expect the player to do anything with those realistic B1s? They can't run for three seconds, they can't jump, they can't roll, they can't survive a couple shots and they are equipped with a puny rifle equivalent to a pistol! Worst of all, that applies to most of the CIS units.

Don't go for realism, it rarely provides fun gameplay.

I had been testing the sides with ubermode, favoring CIS, but it was too hard for the clones. What if I returned to that?

This mod is pretty AWSOME! You rock Kinetosimpetus. I like your Droid Commando Sword which is pretty SWEET! :D

any suggestions for balanceing it better while still keeping somewhat realistic?

Increase the Droid's stamina to make them faster and more agile, it's ok for them to be somewhat fragile (this should apply to every B-1 droid); if you don't want to give the basic B-1 more weapons, then at least give their rifles more firing modes, perhaps a burst mode (fires three decently strong, inaccurate shots, then overheats) and a pistol-like mode (that doesn't overheat so quickly).

I will come back with more suggestions later (give me some time to play it again and think).

Edit: alright, here we go:

The player only has access to the standard B-1 in the beginning of the match, no points should be required to play as the rocketeer (why is it the only one with explosives??) and sniper; the gunner droid (the one with the black markings) should have a different primary weapon, nothing too fancy, just something to differ it from the standard B-1; the pilot droid should have bacta/ammo packs or a fusion cutter with the ability to "heal" other droids, and perhaps a different weapon with more firepower (shotgun?), the magna guard has too many weapons - the commando pistol is unecessary.

Now for the Clones, the Clone Trooper is much stronger than the B-1, he has four grenades of two different types, reduce it to two; the ARC is overpowered, he can't have a blaster rifle and a rocket-launcher; the ARC Captain shouldn't have a commando pistol - he has a heavy repeater; if I'm not mistaken, the player has immediate access to Katarn-class Armored Mace Windu right from the beginning, that's not appropriate.

the "armored mace windu" and clone marine are currently 0 points to unlock, because i was still in testing mode with them

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try to get some of them set up, when I'm not working on another project

The reason there are fewer explosives... i don't like how they are used online, but i'm being hypocritical there... i usually like TK's on, just so you actually have to use skill to blow something up :yes:
Edit:
  • fusion cutter now repairs droids( clones cutter damages)
    commando droid has rifle/sword only
    clones carry fewer nades
    arcs carry regular pistol
    droid pilot rocketteer and sniper have 0 point to unlock
    the rep "hero" has ion nades, since i didn't get the other one working right
    clone jettrooper has a kama
    droideka addshield is +50 rather than -100
more on the fusion cutter

as far as i can tell, it will repair anything else first, but if there is nothing else to fix nearby, it will fix itself! :D

and i am working on a rapidfire version of the b1 rifle as an alterate fire( like the jk series e-11)

Update: b1 assault droid gunner has commando rifle, droid snipr rifle uses commando ordnance, basic b1 has a second rifle, innaccurate but bursts of commando shots (commando droid shots are faster with more power)

That's a nice update, I'm eager to play it. :)

It's interesting to have kama wearing Jet Troopers for a change, the Wookiepedia Kama article even says:

Yes, i have seen that article. I will make a few more changes and upload it again, soon then. =)

Edit: oh, yeah and more of the maps are included now. I think all of them, insteadof about half.

I read that a long time ago, and now that I remember that, map jet troopers have kama's now :P

This version is a huge improvement, I enjoyed playing it, thanks for the release.

The modifications you made apparently solved the balance problem (and for some reason I love to play as the Pilot Droid), the kama-wearing Jet Trooper is awesome, every skin is good, the altered "Anakin" is nice and overall I didn't find anything lacking in gameplay.

I found a way to cheat that small interval before the SBD starts firing his blaster, if the player repeatedly presses the left mouse button instead of holding it, the SBD starts firing right away, you might want to change that.

The icon for the Droid Gunner's turret is completely black and there's a some floating icons, not to mention the incorrect names, but I'm sure you will work on these small details later.

About the hero, why not keep the new hero as well as the old one? Also, I think the CIS should have a hero too.

yeah, i'd give the cis a hero too, but i seem to have run out of unit spots, unless i can add one more... or i could use different heros on different maps, maybe the armoured hero in close maps, the "jedi" in urban, a new one? in wide open, and then matching villains, (the droideka might represent a villain, unless i can add another class)

about the sbd, i'll check it out, but idk how to fix it, i made it's alternate weap semi-auto to prevent another cheat, but i don't know this one

hm... it is as you say, but it is semi-auto if you do that,
hold down and warm up to auto, or just click as if semi auto
the clone chaingun does not do that, i'll have to see why

ok, its fixed now, it was because i had no cooldowntime set

Oh, yeah, i keep forgetting to lessen the battledroid's ammo for his burst fire weapon

Update, kinda

here is the version that I last munged before school started, and never uploaded, the sbd bug is fixed, and some other stuff is different, some new effects, a new rocket droid on coruscant only

note, that the newish hero on coruscant, and the armored hero on every other map, will likely not be in the next version, if i even have enough time to work on it, but characters based on the same names will likely be reintroduced later.

Tip for clone players: watch out for droideka. I think i'll use it as a minor hero in later versions. I was totally pwned by one today.
