A few week ago my laptop got re-imaged and I lost all my games and work.
I backed-up empire at war onto my usb and copied it back to the lucasarts folder the next day.
I sold the disc so I can't install it anymore.
Yesterday, I bought forces of corruption but it won't install because it says empire at war is not installed but it is still playable and on my computer.
What's wrong?
50 dollars for nothing?

Re: Installing Problems!
That might be the problem, because only copying the main folder might cause that some data/registry files are lost, then FoC might not be able to find the original eaw.Recon Trooper wrote:I backed-up empire at war onto my usb and copied it back to the lucasarts folder the next day.
You could mabey have someone sending you the missing files and put them in the right folders for solving the problem, but I'm not sure if it would work..

Yeah, you can't just copy and paste programs like that. Some will work right out of the folder, but like Yodakid said, certain things won't work - which usually has to do with the registry keys and things, which weren't copied.
It's not likely that you can just send someone all of the registry keys either, as that would be pretty difficult and time-consuming for both you and the other person. Not to mention that it's not very wise to play with the registry if you don't know what you're doing.

The disk is useless without a game key. If you sold the game key as well, then it is illegal for you to still play it without a new game key.Recon Trooper wrote:I sold the disc so I can't install it anymore.
