I thought it was fine for the beta, but I'm not sure it is for the final release. Assuming that the v1.3 patch is finished when the pack is released (which is what I'm planning for), I think it might be better if they were apart.
In the short term it is easier to release them bundled, but I think apart is better in the long term. Just putting the files in the pack greatly increases the download size. Without the binary diffs (55MB), the v1.3 patch files themselves are over 250MB. Also, the v1.3's installer provides options to configure the sides, hud, award effects, and custom map colors (yeah I know, no one has seen them since the installer is still broken). Users won't know those important options exists if the two mods are bundled. Any future v1.3 updates (hopefully there won't be any) could be a problem too as the pack won't be re-released with the changes.
The pack
can work without the v1.3 patch. I don't think its hard to stick in a link to the v1.3 download site. I plan on having it hosted on the main download sites as well as my tiny site (right now its in SWBF2 General here on GT). I'm hoping a staff member on the download site can give the SWBF1 pack and the v1.3 patch preferred treatment and that we don't have to submit the files a few days in advance?
The v1.3 patch allows SWBF2 to support the custom game modes and eras. Without it, the pack will only show the standard game modes and eras. To install the v1.3 patch, its SWBF2 -> Official v1.1 patch -> UnOfficial v1.3 patch. The v1.3 patch includes the v1.2 patch to make things easier and smaller.
