Modding Mozilla FireFox

Post by inferno »

Here's how to speed up firefox and give it a new look!

let's get started
1.First open a copy of firefox and type about:config you will then be prompted by a screen that asks if you'd like to continue... of course you would.
2. Now scroll down to network.http.max-connections-per-server, right click it and select modify, and enter a value like 15.
3. Now to enable parallel downloads (known as pipelining) find network.http.pipelining right click it and select toggle.
4. Now find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests and set it's new value to 15
5. Almost done. Right click anywhere on the configuration screen and hit New and then integer.
Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay in the name box and 0 in the value box. (don't use #5 if you have a slow speed anyway as it could slow it down even more.)
6. To give it a new look get this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6070 install and now restart firefox. YAY ur Done.

You have just made it so your browser downloads pieces of a page 15 at a time instead of 2.
And you also made it so you can download more than one thing at time, while making it look good.
