Gametoast Modders at Battlestats.com

Post by arramus »

Hello [GT] members.

Battlestats.com provides a number of war services that complement those on ER. In addition it also provides some unique services that I'm interested in using for the Republic Commando members. Battlestats has an Internal Wars game type that will help us get some productive training in with a purpose.

I've registered the [GT} clan at Battlestats.com
http://www.battlestats.com/clubs/view/?4427

Battlestats also provides services for Star Wars Battlefront if you're interested in playing in another event in addition to ER or would simply like to host an Internal Wars 'training' event.

Here's a list of the game types currently supported at Battestats.com

War Services:
War Services are defined as a 'System' to track multiple games played over multiple days. Results of each game played are posted to the database and stats re displayed in real time. Generally there are several win categories for each war such as 'Most Points Scored', 'Best Win-to-Loss Ratio', and 'Best Kill-to-Death Ratio'.

Wars are generally 1 week in duration, and currently come in 3 flavors:

Internal Wars (AKA Squad Wars) - This is where the membership of a club plays itself in a friendly, yet competitive nature to see which 'units' inside that club are the best and which 'players' in those units are the best.

Challenge Wars (AKA Grudge Wars) - This is where a club challenges another club to all out WAR!! These are generally very competitive in nature with the winner getting to claim 'bragging rights' over the other club :-)

Open Wars - This type of war is generally a 'community' type of event where all clubs from the community come together to play each other. The members from each club play as many games as they can against members of other clubs for the duration of the event. Of Course, Winning Clubs / Players get 'Mondo' bragging rights for winning in these types of events.

One Example of an Open event is the Xwing vs Tie Figther 'Week of War' event. It has seen a high of 975 players play almost 4,000 games in a 1 week period. (Now that's a lot-o-people having a lot-o-fun).

Ladder Services:
Ladder Services are defined as a 'System' to track a players 'skill' against other players. All Players are 'ranked' with 1 being the highest rank, or the 'highest rung on the ladder'. When a player that is lower on the ladder beats a player that is 'higher' on the ladder they 'move' up the ladder. Nothing happens to the player that 'Lost', they stay where they are on the ladder.

There will be several different Ladder Service available at BSC, including, but not limited to:

Open Ladders - ongoing ladders available to all registered BSC Players.
Wing Ladders - 2vs2 ladders with rankings for individual players. No more looking around for your wing-man.
Club Ladders - ongoing ladders individual to each club that wishes to run one.
Challenge Ladders - These will be where a club will challenge another club to a 'timed' ladder. Players from both clubs will play each other in an attempt to see which club can put the most players in the 'top spots'.

Tournament Services:
Tournament Services is a 'System' that follows the more 'time tested' and 'well known' tournament format. These come in single elimination tournaments and will allow for real time brackets, submission of match wins, and semi-automated running of events.

Season Services:
Season Services is based on player signups, and allows to keep track of scores over a series of events, like a football season for instance. Scoring, Naming and Events can be fully customized.
Internal Season - This is where the membership of a league/club play itself in a friendly, yet competitive nature to see which 'players' in those leagues/clubs are the best.
Challenge Season - This is where a club can setup an event and everybody else is allowed to join, pretty much like the Challenge Wars.
Open Season - This type of season is generally a 'community' type of event where all players from the community can come together to play each other. Of Course, Winning Players get 'Mondo' bragging rights for winning in these types of events.

Services Not Mentioned Above:
BSC will strive to be very 'sensitive' to the needs of the different gaming communities it gets involved it. The services listed above are not intentionally exclusionary of other events that specific gaming communities have now, or want to have in the future.

Is this battlefront or RC? or both?

It is for both. Battlestats has a specific game service for Battlefront already and for RC we can make make our own as there is a customisable Misc section.

We talked about this the other day. How long before an RC setup could be completed? Would we be able to host tournaments there as well as ER?

Battlestats has its own official tournaments and clans can also set up their own tournament the way they like them. This can be interclan, a 2 clan war or an open tournament for all clans. Battlestats has a drop down menu set up that allows you to choose the match specifications.

I'll chat with you more on Xfire about it all.
