Private Threads
I think it would be helpful if we had private threads for a certain group of people that only they could post on there. That way they could communicate in private without having to send PMs. If you send a PM, then you are not corresponding with everyone else at the same time. It is better than a regular thread becuase you can keep things secret and keep unwanted people away from viewing your work. An example that this could be used:
Majin is making RotE #5 and is corresponding with Psychofred and Teancum for certain weapons, effects, scripting, etc.

RE: Private Threads
How about Xfire? And other chatprograms? Fora aren't really meant to be for a few people only IMO
Besides, it'd take up quite some space, and how would you make the groups???

RE: Private Threads
Maybe have a list of the private threads under a forum and then when you click on it, you have to enter a password in order to view it and post in it.

RE: Private Threads
Nope. Sorry, there's PMs and XFire and all. The only private sections are for admins and moderators. Besides, in your example Majin would talk to psych0fred and myself on XFire or MSN. There's just no reason for another new forum, and anyone who got into that forum would get all 'better-than-you' to other people (I've seen it before)
RE: Private Threads
Yeah! Us staff are better then you guys! [/sarcasm]lol had to say it
RE: Private Threads
on/off topic:
what do we do if people won't respond to PMs ?
(I sent the PMs over 2 weeks ago)
do we justsend more PMs or what?
(don't have their xfire, if they have one at all)

RE: Private Threads
Check your outbox to see if the message is still there, if the messages are still there then the the person you're sending to hasn't read them yet. If they have been read (and are now in the sent box) but no response has arrived then there is obviously a reason, be it the content of the PM or whatever. To repeatedly PM someone who you know is reading but not responding to your PM's is a waste of both your time and theirs, it's also probably bad netiquette. Who in particular are you trying to PM?

20??Sending pms to people aksing them to model you 20 or so new units I think would end up being ignored.
I only asked for 3. (with some of your assets from your maps)
I also asked that if you couldn't do it then to please *RECOMMEND* someone else who does good with models

Re: RE: Re: RE: Private Threads
I really haven't downloaded any maps/mods for SWBF2. If there was a map/mod with stick figure models created in MS paint, I would download that.

Back ontopic: I think private threads is a good idea but there would be the decision of Who's allowed and who's not? Probably Admins and Mods but
then normal users like myself would feel left out and if Admins, Mods and people with Jedi and Special ranks only then there would be a bunch of spam to get your count higher
