Question regarding maps with copious amounts of water...

These maps would be:
Taris
Tibrin
Mon Calamari
Imdaar
Dantooine (might be wrong here, but this map crashed for me, so I can't tell)
My question is: Having been through the process of (on the stock Naboo map) needing to download a patch thast removed the water from the map, for the sake of playability for people such as myself who have had this problem, might it be possible to do the same for these maps? I realize how much work that (might) entail, so just a thought. Aside from this (and styemming from this, I cannot get past the 3rd campaign mission,) this mod is amazing.

All those maps do have water, yes. If there are a number of people who have this issue, then I may consider making an optional patch that removes the water. It won't necessarily be soon, though, because as mentioned in the countdown topic, my modding computer is currently off-duty.

Thanks for the consideration.

I'll put mine here for the record...
I have the bug too.
Also you can skip to the other campaign missions by adding them to your MP server.

I would also appreciate a water patch if you took the time to make it.

If you have this problem, please let me know which of the stock maps with water do/do not work. I'd like to patch this by simply changing water parameters instead of removing water completely, if possible. Your input (and possible future testing) will help enable this.

Ok, I'll check more maps in the future, but so far Dantooine is all that's crashed for me. I think. I've been too busy with real life to play more.

All of the stock maps with water except for Naboo worked.
But Naboo doesn't have water anymore.

This is how mine happened as well.

These maps crash for me: Dantooine, Tibrin, Taris, Mon Calamari: Glacier, and Imdaar.

ShadowWing,

Did you need to download a fix to allow you to play the stock Naboo level, just out of curiosity? If you did, your problem is a mirror imsge of mine.

Same stuff here exactly.

I just ran each ground map that I hadn't already, those maps are the same that crashed for me, and I did need to download a "fix" for Naboo.

Yes, I had to download a patch to make Naboo work for me.

I might as well join the party here, since I provided the Naboo patch and have complained in various places about my computer's water crashing habits.

I'd love to find out which water parameters are the buggers (some water works, obviously...look at the stock kashyyyk for SWBF2 and kashyyyk:islands for convopack, not so the docks, however)
but I know almost nothing about water because of course I've never made much of an attempt to use it.

So, I'll happily help with any troubleshooting efforts in that regard.

Now, a few observations that I have concerning water:

-For some maps, such as Kashyyyk: Docks, it almost seems to be a matter of what angle the water is being viewed from. It is entirely possible to spawn as the CIS, remain facing the republic side, and not crash, whereas turning around and looking in the opposite direction, no matter from where on the map, will make it crash...perhaps from viewing the water's point of "origin"?
-However, in using Bobfinkl's Alderaan map as an example, it seems to be much more a matter of how much water is in view, though it might still cause a sure crash to look toward the origin, if such a thing exists.
-The LOD setting plays a large role in water crashing. For example, in the unpatched stock naboo, with LOD set to the max, turning toward the lake from any point of the map will cause a certain crash. However, with LOD set to 0, it is possible to get as far as the great arch in the center of the map, facing that direction while walking, before it crashes.
-The FOV (field of view) of the unit plays a role as well. Double scoping with a sniper on the stock Dagobah will also cause a water crash. On the stock Naboo, this also plays a role, even as to whether a regular unit is in its "moving" or "aiming" FOV.

A list of water maps that work:
-Kashyyyk:Kharaci--I can't spell this...
-Jabba's Palace (water in the one cp room)
-Death Star (water in the trash compactor)
-Kashyyyk:Islands
-Felucia (stock)
-Torvik
-Felucia: Overgrown Bog
-Jaal-Kan: River Conflict (I assume this has water, don't remember)
-Sacorria
-Shakara VI: Swamp Assault
-Tientia: Naval Engagement
-Ultimate Galactic Battleground (I'm pretty sure this has water)

And ones that don't:
-All water maps in DTII, as mentioned above
-Kashyyyk:Docks
-Naboo: Midnight (stock SWBF2)
-Naboo: Theed (convopack theed)
-Dagobah (but only as mentioned above--sniper crash)
-Bothawui
-Nal Hutta: Slums
-Corellia:Hidden Valley (but only crashes if you go to the far extents of the map)
-Whichever Raxus Prime map apparently has water in it--not delinquent's, not a_speck_of_dust's, not Mav's...the other one.
-Haruun Kal
-Talay: Tak Base
-Bakura: Rogue Assault (Rebel Ops Mission 3; noooooooooooooo......................)
-Any of the 607th map pack with water, I think.
-Coralac: Scrap Time!
-Clone Wars: Kashyyyk
-Corra: Glorious Wasteland
-Corellia: Shores (I think)
-Dathomir Beachhead
-Eddie's Dantooine
-Eddie's Tynna Valley
-Khimera: Jungle
-LOZ: Hyrule Field
-Naboo: Theed Hangar (I can only assume it's due to water, unless maybe something with the window glass??)
-Naboo: Prototype
-Nemoidia Swamp
-Ralltiir: Swoop Circuit
-Saleucami Valley
-Servorum: Swamp
-Sraiden: Ash Forest
-The Rihaken: River of Kashyyyk
-The New Empire: Beach Assault
-Thrakia: Oceanic Pass
-Tropicanae
-Yavin IV Hills
-Vinsoth: Battle on the Plains? Not sure about this one, don't remember.

VERY IMPORTANT EDIT:
My computer randomly decided to inform me today that my graphics card driver wasn't installed. I Installed the driver and now it looks like all the water works fine, no crashing, though I have yet to try anything other than Mav's Dantooine. But considering that it didn't work at all before and works fine now...everybody with problems, go check your graphics card drivers.

I updated my computer to Windows 7 Home Premium from Windows Vista and now I can see the water without a crash. I'm not entirely sure that this is what fixed the problem, though.

My drivers are up to date, yet I have this problem still.
