Working off of this, let us not forget Han and Luke also managed to get their hands on some stormie armor in ANHJaspo wrote:A main character (good guy) wearing storm trooper armor or advanced stormtrooper armor or stormtrooper-like armor is really no surprise and is very much in line with this time period of the extended universe found in the novels; I recall one book in particular where some person, maybe Corran Horn, had some really advanced imp armor on and was able to take about 5 blaster shots while just getting a little cooked. Even Mav's Dark Times has rebels with stormie-like armor.

I'm having a time with Colbert's thinking; if there is a part of the blade that is under the metal bits at the crossguard, why would the metal bits be there in the first place?

So that the wielder doesn't accidentally slide their hand up into the blades.Kingpin wrote:I'm having a time with Colbert's thinking; if there is a part of the blade that is under the metal bits at the crossguard, why would the metal bits be there in the first place?

It was stehpen colbert addressing a reasonable explanation for the tri saber. It actually is a pretty good arguement for it and it was pretty darn funny.
I came to realize the tri saber was also a representation of a third trilogy. Like how the OT had single sabers, The prequels had darth mauls duel saber symbolizing the second trilogy and now the tri saber symbolizing a third trilogy.

Yeah, his theory was that it was all one blade, and those other "emitters" are just blade covers to protect your hands.

Thanks guys. I went and found the video elsewhere and it was pretty entertaining along with a decent possible explanation of how it happens. His explanation actually makes a lot of sense.

Looks great! You should see whether it's possible to create the "unstable" look that the one in the trailer has.thelegend wrote:..But it seems to work in Battlefront II.Hidden/Spoiler:

Given blades are textures, should be easy to do.jedimoose32 wrote:Looks great! You should see whether it's possible to create the "unstable" look that the one in the trailer has.thelegend wrote:..But it seems to work in Battlefront II.Hidden/Spoiler:

Right, but I'm referring to the effect of creating the wavy, crackly effect that this blade seems to have. I suppose it could be possible to attach a lightning effect that is scaled/stretched along the length of the blade.
