About time we get a Valve designed map.

And a Payload map no less, my favorite game mode. Judging from the pictures, Upward looks kinda hard for the BLUs, there's all these twists and turns and stuff, but maybe that's just the final push.Moving_Target wrote:About time we get a Valve designed map.

It looks exciting none the less. I do like the new shotgun. I just wonder how long before people find a way to abuse it's crtiz. I do like the wrangler, should be interesting the hud and how people use it. And the range of it.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Engineer Update
Well, you would have to spend lots of metal to rebuild your sentries every single time, then you would have to ensure that they kill enough people so that their 'value' is high enough for you to get the ammount of crits you need. In other words, it would require a strategic expenditure of resources, and if you can do that, then I think you deserve the right to abuse the Justice's ability.Moving_Target wrote:It looks exciting none the less. As for the Wrangler, I will admit I'm not exactly a marksman in Team Fortress 2, I always relied on the Sentry's ludicrous accuracy, so I'm not sure how I feel about the way it works (I'm not even sure if I actually understand how it works). I'll wait until I get my hands on it, can't judge it until I have seen it myself.

You can kill spies with your sentry now and avoid those tactics where one scout drinks a bonk drink, gets shot by the sentry and the other one steals your intelligence. You might be able to get some kills when the entire other team rushes in with an uber, too. I like the new weapons so far.

This is true.
And nice rebuttal Nihillo with the Justice shotgun.
I can already think of some fun strategies with the wrangler. Like make it look downward to make enemies think it's down or work with another engie and have one normal sentry protect your body, while you control your sentry.

Indeed, there should be many interesting strategies for combinations of different types of Sentries.Moving_Target wrote:I can already think of some fun strategies with the wrangler. A Wrangler Engineer, a normal Engineer and a Pyro (for Spy-checking, killing sappers and for holding back Übers) should be enough to put up a pretty strong defense.
I almost feel sorry for those Spies.

Re: Team Fortress 2: Engineer Update
This is probably my favorite update. Engineer's my favorite class, so naturally I'm glad he's updated. Plus the new weapons and maps are really good. Oh, and the Engineer spam is hilarious.

Yeah, this sounds pretty epic. I'll probably start playing TF2 again... once I finish Assassin's Creed 2...

Re: Team Fortress 2: Engineer Update
I still can't believe we used to play as the Engineer class without the ability to move stuff, it's the most useful thing ever! A revolutionary game mechanic.
I haven't played the new maps yet, but so far I'm enjoying the new unlocks and new strategies for the Engie. Love the Gunslinger by the way, disposable Sentries are awesome!

So much fun. I'm loving it. Even the wall of engies on both sides.

Gunslinger, plus justice is a great combo.
Get into the enemy base, drop one around a corner, so it gets 1-2 surprise kills. then use your revenges to get back out. Plus you still have enough metal for another mini turret.

I haven't had enough time lately to go for the new items but they look pretty sweet.
