Community Source Maps

This is a collection of maps made by the community.

How to install:
Download (or extract) the .bsp file, browse to your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\[SteamID]\[Game]\[Abbreviation]\maps folder and insert it there. Now simply run the game and play! (an example of my location for Half-Life 2: Deathmatch levels is C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\saldrfingerfood\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\maps)

Common Game Abbreviations:
Many maps have two or three letters before the name of the map that indicate which game it was designed for or works best in. Common abbreviations are:

arena, cp, ctf, pl, and tc = Team Fortress 2
cs and de = Counter-Strike
d1, d2, and d3 = Half-Life 2
dm = HL2: Deathmatch
(?)dod = Day of Defeat
ep1 = HL2: Episode 1
ep2 = HL2: Episode 2
gm = Garry's Mod
l4d = Left 4 Dead
zpo = Zombie Panic! Source
zps = Zombie Panic! Source


l4d_assault

Version 1

A map designed for testing and fun. It's a long corridor with lots of weapons and pickups.
To load the map, press ` (the key next to 1, or tilde key) which brings upo the console. Then type:

map l4d_assault

To spawn a zombie, type the following in the console:

sv_cheats 1
z_add

or

sv_cheats 1
z_spawn [insert name of zombie, like: hunter, boomer, tank, witch]

dm_sewage

Revision 1

A sewers map with fairly good lighting effects. This map blends light and darkness to make a scramble to stay alive in the maze of sewage.

tdm_hydro_tower

Version 2

A Team Deathmatch level centered on a large tower. With canals resembling the canals seen in Half-Life 2, a sense of knowing lurks in the shallows. This map is best played with 8-20 people, mostly because of it's large size and Team Deathmatch features. I used this map to showcase some new techniques and content.

Version 3

A map for Deathmatch that revolves entirely around the .357 magnum. You spawn in one of two rooms and have to battle it out for the prized magnum.

They are both designed for Deathmatch, as shown by the prefix dm, but they can most likely work in any Source multiplayer game. I'm also almost sure they will work in GMod.

I think it would work in synergy aswell, but it's doubtful it would work in games like ZM, ZP:S, H:S, or PVKII.

Cool! I bought HL2DM 2 days ago and I love it. The madness of it compared to SWBF2. I'll play some of these later.

can you make a .nav file for these so we can play them on left 4 dead. I would pay money for a new map for l4d. no really. make one , ill pay you.

:o Wish I had L4D. *Looks around thinking evil thoughts...* Once I get the hang of ladders and stuff I'll start making some and PM them too you FF.

Well, I made a Left 4 Dead map. It's not that good, and no zombies spawn (and the survivors only move a bit) but it's pretty fun. It can help with achievements though. :D

No downloads or screenshots yet. All these maps are made for Zombie Panic! Source, for the SCRAMBLE PIT! server. (The non-scrapped maps are on the servers rotation.)

zpo_train_b3_f (Windows only map. Doesn't work on Linux)
Hidden/Spoiler:
A long train with zombies spawning on the roofs and humans spawning in the last carriage, they make their way to the front to disable the train safeties then go back to the last carriage and detach it.

Doesn't work on Linux because distance fog was removed :(

- Has full ambient sounds and lightning (blinds you :D ), custom textures (The ground is animated to simulate the train moving, with moving objects and towns in the skybox.

zpo_adelphi_b2 (Scrapped)
Hidden/Spoiler:
A spaceship, Scrapped because I could not come with with any suitable objectives or gameplay for the maps layout without having to redo everything.
zps_foxholemelee_rc2 (Scrapped, OB cant handle the entities, causing snapshots now.)
Hidden/Spoiler:
Just a big breakfloor map for zps. zombies and humans spawn on seperate sides of the fence and break the floor to get to each other. Mostly only melee weapon spawns.

zps_redmist_rc2
Hidden/Spoiler:
Big forest map with some cabins and caves. Barn has a basement and collapsible roof trap.
- Has full ambient sounds and lightning (blinds you :D ), ep2 models and textures. (Compressed to a small filesize.)

zps_sgc_infection_b1
Hidden/Spoiler:
Stargate Command map, Zombies spawn in the wormhole, Humans spawn around the base. Only has lvl 28 and 27. Built from memory and from some layouts.

zps_ map with an objective. The map has a round limit of 10 mins (Before the base self destructs.) Or until you kill all the zombies. (Foothold situation.)

-Custom sounds, models, and textures. Working camera system.

zpo_superhappyfunslide (Scrapped)
Hidden/Spoiler:
Scrapped, gameplay was horrid. Just constisted of multiple levels with slides going down to them. Humans spawning at the top zombies spawning on all the levels below.
zpo_pacman_rc2_c
Hidden/Spoiler:
Survivers collect 500 points, Each dot = 1 point, Fruit = 5 points, Big dots make the ghosts editable for 10 seconds, 10 points for a ghost, -25 if a zombie eats one.

- Custom sounds and textures. Scoreboard hud in top left.

A big shopping mall with cadeable shops. Has a fully working escalator.

A map based around a monorail station (Monorail passes by on flames occasionally.)

Fingerfood , I was able to locate modding tools for l4d and started making some maps on paper that I may start in hammer soon. There is no sdk yet but there are like 10 maps Ive been playing from HL2 that work perfectly in l4d. Its the best thing im playing right now. IF you get 3 other good players or more you can play it for hours a night and its not even boring yet. I cant wait to make a cave or tatooine map for this game, krayt dragons could replace hunters. yay

Hey Guru could you send me those HL2 maps that work? I've tried new maps from HL2 without much luck.

RELEVANT TO THE FILEFRONT SHUTDOWN:

All maps with download links are currently on my hard drive in some way or form. I may consider downloading the .zip files just in case and for easy re-upload, but don't worry about the files.
