Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod

I was finally able to buy Just Cause 2 off Steam today, but the reason I bought it is not just because it is a cool and fun game(it is), but because I've been keeping an eye on the Just Cause 2 Multiplayer Mod. There's a few other Just Cause 2 mods, but those are all for single player, as this is a single player game.

Why is a multiplayer mod such a big deal? SHENANIGANS. In this game, you can mess around so much it's not even funny. You can climb whatever you want with a grappling hook, and you can take whatever vehicles you want from other people. So, basically, you can do whatever you want. Now imagine this with 1000 people running around doing whatever they want. Helicopters crashing into bridges, hooking cars to airplanes with people in them... I just think that is golden. Most other multiplayer games these days (shooters) are just about shooting and killing. However, in Just Cause 2 you can explore, fly, shoot, blow stuff up (many destructible things in the environment), grapple hook whatever to whatever, skydive, etc. I've seen a few videos of Just Cause 2 Multiplayer and in all of them there are crazy and funny things that I want to be a part of.

The sad part is, the mod isn't done yet. It's anticipated to be done soon so we can host our own servers, but there's tests every now and then. The next test is in 10 days, so I'm super pumped.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention: the server functions are controlled with lua, so that means I might know how to do a thing or two once the servers are released.


EDIT: The multiplayer beta test this weekend was super fun! I'm going to be putting together a few videos from the footage I got. I'm excited for the servers though! A list of published videos are below.

I used to love this game back when i had my Xbox! Definitely going to buy just for the multiplayer
