This has got to be the best thing showing scale comparison of just about everything that I've ever seen. It was so awe inspiring. From the universe to the hypothetical string, I think everyone in the world needs to see this. The Earth truly is an insignificant pale blue dot. Thanks for sharing, Eggman!

Is this the one where Minecraft is out by Neptune?

I got a kick out of that part. I knew the Minecraft world was huge, but I didn't realize it was that huge!

The only thing it's missing is Carl Sagan, but yeah I really liked this.

I came across this once on Newgrounds. It's pretty cool and it as nice re-discovering it. Thanks for posting!

Well, you do have to keep in mind that the Minecraft world does have the advantage of being a flat world, so it appears much larger than it really is compare to the other celestial bodies, which are mostly spheres. If the Minecraft world were a sphere, then its diameter will roughly be twice that of Earth's, which is still pretty impressive for a game...

I thought that the minecraft world went on forever. If you went far enough in one direction you got to the "farlands" which have really weird terrian, but the world would still keep going. The only real limit was the file size and the lag you get if you keep going, or has this been changed?

To quote the wiki, "the playable area abruptly ends at 30,000,000 meters, and fake chunks (they are not solid, they can be fallen through) start generating"

Wow. This actually made my day.

I love this. I keep finding different versions of it when using StumbleUpon, but it's neat. I like using Celestia, too (which kind of goes from the distance Google Earth leaves off at all the way to quite a distance from the Milky Way). This kind of thing gives me pause. I find the universe beautiful along with everything in it, in a way.

I remember the first time I saw this and saw the Minecraft world. It's bigger than Neptune o.o .

The sizes of the stars is inaccurate, Celestia is a much better way to get a good understanding of the size of the visible area around us.

How the Universe Works and The Universe are also amazing shows to watch to really try to understand the universe although we have no idea how big it is and even if it were finite it's too much for us to comprehend.

I am humbled.
