What's in the Box

Post by SBF_Dann_Boeing »

I really don't know what all this is, but its...cool. Some sort of sci-fi film project revolving around well lots of strange things, including some apocalyptic event and a very weird black box. So far only 2 films or episodes have been shown so far. I really don't know what to make of it, but I'll be keeping an eye on it, and I invite you to take a look at it as well.

Seems like your standard steadycam sci-fi indie-type movie with accompanying ARG. What's in the box? It's usually a cat... or not.

I've seen it already. There is an interview with the director. He appears to have taken some inspiration (as well as sound clips and soundtrack) from the TV show Lost and the Half-life series, and possibly other franchises.

The film is interesting; low budget, original perspective, puzzling story (if there is one), no wonder people talk so much about it. I would watch a full movie like this, if it were to be produced properly.

For some reason when you said "What's in the Box" I immediately thought of the movie UHF

I have only seen their first part, I had never seen that short clip along the highway. The first upload of "what's in the box" on youtube is over a year old though, so the project could possibly take yet another long time before completion.
Hidden/Spoiler:
If anyone's interested about what the people in that second clip say; all the boy's saying is "yeah yeah, go stand over there, I'll just make a nice shot" etc. while she's saying "aww, really" etc. (in a nice way, it's kinda dutch to say it like that, dunnow what a good English translation would be), then he says "Hey, you're nose is bleeding" and she says "hey, yours is too" and he goes like "what the frog" and they turn around and you get the nice fx shot.
The same producers also made a video for a competition for stormchasers, they didn't win (because it they overdid the "do something cool after you quickly spun around 20 times"-part a lot) and only got an honorable mention, but it's hilarious anyhow:

Hidden/Spoiler:
Just a last off-topic link; after looking that previous video up that I remembered, I also saw that they made another short (music) video. I swear, these guys/girls are talented video. But after watching the full video, I felt that it was a bit too graphic (and a bit unnerving) at the end, so I advice anyone who's going to look it up to be warned.

Congratulations! You just won an Internet. +1 Internet

Back on-topic, whenever I click the first link, all I get is a black screen with a red glowing ring, and random numbers & letters when I mouse over the bottom part of the ring. How odd

The third link's movie is friggin' awesome. I'm gonna keep an eye on this, too.

Try clicking on the ring.
But not for too long, unless you want to waste too much time on something that leads nowhere :) . (unless they updated it since the last time I looked)

Well, after a few seconds something changes and the four segments of the ring can be clicked on: the left segment of the ring displays a news report saying... hum... something, the upper segment shows that video where someone is trying to escape with "the box" from a group of armed men with gas masks, the bottom segment gives you what I believe is a password input field, right segment shows torn pieces of a newspaper.

Well then, it's going to suck. Guess I'm not going to see it then.

I've got it! There's a KFC double down in the box!
I bet there's going to be an anticlimactic reveal as to what's inside the box.

It will either be:

A) Nothing
or
B) Something incredibly inconsequential
