Re: Graphic Art - Everything Else (II)
This time, it's fully rendered, only the dark-blue glow was made with GIMP, it would've been a waste of time to try and get the same effect through compositing.Darth_Spiderpig wrote:Meh likz.

I lowered the standard specularity for the whole model and created a separate material for the visor which is exactly the same as the original one, but with specularity at about 90%. And I added several spots, changed rendering dimensions and let Blender itself ad in the Alpha for a much better effect. Since I updated my avatar for the last time, I've learned a lot. The adjustments I made for this new render took me about 5 minutes, if not less. Though the outcome is much cleaner than the original. (IMHO)
EDIT:
Oh yeah, I forgot to say this; I also edited the standard camera; 72 mm lens instead of the standard 35. (I had read some articles some time ago, that said that 35mm is for action and 72 better suited for calm shots)

I've started to work on the rest of the body of my model now, I UV'd the body to parts of the helmet texture, they're not final at all.

Re: Graphic Art - Everything Else (II)
I agree. I would only say that you could potentially ad a lot of strength to your image if you'd give the deathstar a higher-resolution texture that wouldn't tile so bad and the background nebula-like glow is also way to lowrez for the rest of your shot.
But, looking at only your composition, it's very, very well done.

Yeah, so far that's the general internet consensus of the piece. It looks cool, but its hard to make out what the bag is. It's because of the inside. Sigh.lesovikk1 wrote:wow thats amazing, took me a few seconds to work out it was a bag of crisps, i was expecting fruit idk why

Re: Graphic Art - Everything Else (II)
looks great!
i think the problem with the inside may be that it has no strong shadows like the hands or is the pack actually full with trianglelike things?

Nah, I decided to take some liberties on how the inside would look. I might go back and change it a bit, make it more realistic.DarthD.U.C.K. wrote:looks great!

Re: Graphic Art - Everything Else (II)
Strange name for a clone...
ANYWAY....
Many of you may remember my old avatar:
Twas a simple crop of the Zelda: Skyward Sword original piece of concept art.
And some of you may remember the transition for Christmas time last year:
I wasn't very proud of the hat, but the hair took me long enough in paint...
Well, I decided to go back and edit it...again... now that I have been messing around with GIMP a little. Not only is it Santa Link, but it also is a sort of "what if?" concept art of Link in the Goron Tunic (seen in Ocarina of Time), but with white hair...
Merry Christmas in July!

Re: Graphic Art - Everything Else (II)
looks nice, i would however add more contrast7shading to the tunic and maybe darken his hair a bit or recoloring the original hair, rightnow it loos a bit unnatural
