Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

Post by Nova Hawk »

Disney has finally released a trailer for its new upcoming film Chornicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader... and this time its in 3D! I've always been a fan of the books and movies and this one was always a mystery to me on how they were gonna pull it off because from what I remember there wasn't much in the way of battles or anything just a lot of searching and locating. Anyway, I'm still eager to see it and as I'm sure all the rest of you Narnia fans are too.

I hope it turns out better than Prince Caspian...not that Prince Caspian was terrible... I thought the first one was brilliant and magical, whereas the second was silly at times...taking some bad influence from 300 with the action sequences. Hopefully they're able to restore some of the magic of it, though the entering Narnia bit looks even sillier in this one than the last. On the bright side, the rest looks nice.

Agreed with pretty much everything.

Eh, tbh I liked the second a lot better than the first cuz it had a lot of action and stuff, but that's just my opinion (we are still entitled to our own opinions, right? lol).

Yes. Unless the only reason you like something is for acting and battles with no regard to plot, characters, or acting. And please tell me that you don't actually think there's not a movie to be made simply because there are no battles, as per your first post. Not all movies are war movies.

j/k.

Haha, actually, I think it looks great. Although agreed that the entering bit looks a little oddball.

My faith is somewhat shaken in regards to Chronicles of Narnia. For dubious reasons...
Seriously, 1300 years later and not even flintlock rifles?
But seriously, I kinda want to see it.

Did you read the books?
That's just kinda irrelevant.

I myself have read the books, and I am kind of interested in the movie. And I do have to agree, that is kind of irrelevant.
IMHO, C.S. Lewis kind of went overboard with the symbolism.

Well, I know you're not a Christian, but CS Lewis, being a Christian author writing books intentionally symbolic of Christianity, couldn't exactly be called overboard.

Ah, thanks. I was okay with Aslan being some divine being (or God, forget exactly which), but beyond that I kind of got sick of the symbolism here, there, and everywhere. :P

Still great books, though. Now that I think about it, I still need to watch Prince Caspian.
