Probably a simple question.

Hey guys; I know this has probably been asked many times, but after skimming over a number of thread here, I'm yet to find something which has got this working.
Recently downloaded the conversion pack, installed it, and it crashed everytime I had tried any level.
After reading around, I downloaded and installed the Standalone 1.3 patch, and again, the same thing still happened.
I've tried moving around the number of maps and stuff, although this is the only mod I currently (or every have had) have installed.
I've also tried lowering all settings as low as they go, to be safe, and the same thing happens.
So yeah. When any level on any gametype is loaded, it crashes to desktop.
Help?

Actually, setting everything on medium provides the best stabililty I fear there may be something else going on though... Have you tried re-installing SWBF2 entirely?

Are you sure the v1.3 patch correctly installed?

@The_Emperor: After setting all options onto medium, the same thing occured.

@Zerted: I'm 90% sure the patch correctly installed; although it didn't originally after running as an administrator (it states that it failed the saftery check, as the exe doesnt exist from the folder containing menu/bat), I tried once again by running it through the command prompt as an administrator, finding the directory and THEN running the menu.bat. This appeared to install correctly?
I get all the proper names of the maps and gametypes, (as I've read that some people only see gibberish or 'code'), and everything else appears to be installed fine. It's just when I attempt to open any map at all under any gametype, that the game crashes.

The cause of that is normally too many addon maps, a missing lvl file, or bad settings for your computer.

When exactly does it crash? As soon as you click play, on the first loading dot, at the team selection screen, etc...

That;s what I thought, and why I still considered starting this thread; as it seems others have encountered this problem, because of the same things you suggested.

But it crashes as soon as I try to load a level. In instant action, I can select the map, gametype, and era/faction i want to play as, and then add the maps to the playlist.
As soon as I press launch, the game crashes to desktop.
It also crashes when either the campaign or the training levels are initiated. When a galactic conquest game is started, you can move your ship on the "board", but as soon as you go to fight on a planet, and initiate a map, the game crashes again.

It really sounds like something that other people hve had fixed when they installed the v1.3 patch, so I dont really know why thats not the case here.

Reinstall the game.
Check to see that it works.
Install the v1.1 patch.
Check to see that it works.
Install the v1.3 patch v117.
Check to see that it works.
Install the Convo pack.
Check to see that it works.
Reinstall the v1.3 patch r117.
Check the game one more time.

QFT. That's how you want to do it.

Haha; That's fair enough. I'll give it a try and get back to you guys.
Cheers, hey.
